Burning Smell (Rain?)

Well this is the first time I have 'noticed' this. I drove to the store and back today and it was rainy out. When I got back into the garage I noticed a burning smell from under the car. More than I ever have before. I could also hear water dripping on exhaust areas underneath the engine and steaming Tsssssssss even after it was parked which only means that water is getting 'up in there'. I dont think it has ever acted like this but I may be wrong. Anybody else's car do this when it rains? I can understand a little water but it seems like it is way more water getting in those areas than should be.

It's probably nothing but I'm crazy about my E46.

Not sure. Does it smell like burning or melting plastic?

Smells like if you has a pan on the stove with a little food still in it and you put a little water in it.

I'm sure it's just dirty water burning up but it still startled me because I haven't noticed it before.

When I was the car I get a little weird smell from vents but it goes away. Could be water evaporating and finding a way to inside.
