Nice ride... yer going to go through a lot of gas for a while LOL. I like the look of the face lifted E9X
Some of those high HP tunes are removeable. Kris' 135 has two tunes on it and and an aftermarket blow off valve. We still get stuff fixed under warranty. Of course, if anything major happens to it, we'll be taking all of that stuff off before it goes to the dealer :biggrin

You guys are awesome! I will def have to take you up on that :) I love driving up to chicago...just picked up a EZ-Pass for 2 dollars from CVS (well really 10, but when u activate it, it credits ur pass 8 dollars)...So I can just cruse on the toll road :)

Probably wont be until May...maybe around my 21st B-day? hehe

Can't do it until then cause i'm going to Georgia for a week for the Air force.

I do love this car...fund a buton today that power folds my mirrors in after I park, so people don't walk by and hit my mirrors when they aren't paying attention :)

On a side not...The car saved my life today on the way to work.

Some idiot wasn't paying attention and pulled out in front of me on a back country road and when he saw me and slammed on his brakes he was right in front of me taking up the whole lane. Luckily no one was coming from the other direction and I was able to serve around him. It all happened so fast it's like a blur.... I believe that in anything other than my BMW I would not have been able to react and move around him in time safely, and would be laying in a hospital bed right now in bad shape :/

Another reason I love BMW!!!!!!!!

I think that just happens... could be wrong though. I get that on my turbo'd cx-7 and it's happened from day1 when I got it with 40 miles. Doesn't happen so much on the zhp though...

Don't you just love finding new things you didn't know about on a car? I think my family always thought I was a little off my rocker reading the manuals of any new cars we got. But then I knew everything like that!

Also, side note, I got ripped off on my ez-pass apparently...lol.

Nice ride! That mileage is just silly low for a 2009.

I'm pretty sure my wife paid $50 when she picked up our EZ Pass, but maybe it was $15 deposit + $35 toll credit. I wonder if CVS here has them. I don't like toll roads, but if I have to take one, the EZ Pass is GREAT. My in-laws didn't have one for the longest time and I convinced them to get one, because even if you only use it a handful of times per year, it can save you sooo much time. And in IL/IN it saves you a lot of money, right?

The Dinan software is $1200 and brings it close to 400 HP, and won't void your warranty

Not entirely true. Dinan voids your warranty just the same as any other software would if it causes problems. Dinan provides their own warranty where they will cover said damages if they occur up to your 50,000 mile warranty. The only thing with Dinan is you are required to let your dealership know about the software and once it's attached to the record of your VIN # you can never get a CPO warranty on that car which means even if you trade it in while still in warranty the dealership will likely low ball you because they can't CPO the car to sell on their lot which costs them $3000 or so.

Lot's of better options than Dinan... not even just our company's tune. The good majority of these also make more power and are quicker than the cars with the Dinan tunes on them. We've had a BUNCH of people test our tune who paid the premium for Dinan and they throw away the huge investment they've already made in Dinan because it's simply just not as good as the others on the market. They ride high on their name and what they've done in the past but most legit companies have surpassed their level of performance by now.

I know Marcus had Dinan on a 335i and he enjoyed it but again for 3x what other tunes cost to get a pretty much useless warranty out of it... not worth it IMO. You can get a handheld tuner and stage II software for less, have more power, more control over your tune AND a full BMW warranty (just flash it to stock when you take her into the dealership, they can't tell you've been running software) with another company's stuff.

Do you mean JB4? (JB5 hasn't been made yet from what I know) A JB4 is much more than $500... include the cost of a chip burner and CAN tool and it's about $800 or more to run it properly. On top of that it's a PITA to install/remove at the drop of a hat (requires tools and working in the engine bay for even 20 min to someone who's used to doing it frequently). Not to mention its just a map overlay, it requires a CAN tool for all the codes it throws and some people think it pushes the stock turbos too hard over an extended period of time.

Really the only benefit I can see it having is it's a physical product that holds some sort of resale value when you either get sick of it or sell the car.

Not to mention its just a map overlay, it requires a CAN tool for all the codes it throws and some people think it pushes the stock turbos too hard over an extended period of time.

Really the only benefit I can see it having is it's a physical product that holds some sort of resale value when you either get sick of it or sell the car.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't really see why you'd need to get a chip burner for the JB4 since it seems to have an [optional] native USB connection (for only $50 more). As far as the CAN tool goes... well, that'd cost maybe $50 and some time to setup software.

Dinan is sold at a BMW dealer in Massachusetts. Full warranty from Dinan / BMW. They guarantee they will warranty all claims there... Since I'm in Mass, I actually go to the dealer for this, just for piece of mind...

The warranty is from Dinan - not BMW. What will happen is that if the warranty claim gets denied by BMW, Dinan will cover the costs. However, for those of us who don't have dealers with a Dinan presence, there would likely be some headache involved.

I'd check again, Dinan's warranty is not through BMW directly. Just because BMW sells it and would work on it (working as a Dinan dealer, not necessarily a BMW dealership) doesn't mean the warranty is actually through BMW. The dealer I got mine from sold split second turbo timers too... doesn't mean BMW endorsed it or warrantied those.

Have a look a bit closer, nothing says BMW warranties this. Notice it says you must go to an authorized Dinan dealer, not just any BMW dealer, which if it was warrantied by BMW would be logically possible.

That dealer you speak of is probably 1 of 10 left in the country. The large majority of the BMW dealers that did sell Dinan have since dropped them in the last 2-3 years.

I'm just semi-guessing on the pricing... It's probably like $600 or so for a full set up from what my buddy who runs JB4 says.
