Seller is asking for $18,000 range. Fantastic price. Seller needs to lessen his BMW horses in the barn. 2nd owner. Clean title. Mint condition. Seller purchased at 28K mi. Oil changed every 3000 mi. with synthetic oil. Complete maintenance history. And I mean complete. Maintenance done through Apex Motorsports in San Diego. Caveat..... I am not seller. I was waiting for this when I was looking for a ZHP. I fell for this the first time I saw this car. Seller was not ready to part at that time. I couldn't wait...so I moved on. But you will fall this too. It's so smooth & clean. As can be seen with the alcantara steering wheel, the seats and silver cube trims. You will not be disappointed. Seller wants to remain anonymous. Yeah that is strange but this looks brand spankin new.
I know theres a difference in saying "that looks brand new" with a used car, and one with a few thousand miles on it... but seriously, that car looks fresh out of the showroom. Just look at the leather in the seats! Also the alcantara wheel and the plastic area surrounding the e-brake. Sweet lawwwd.

Seller wants to remain anonymous because he does not want to deal with buyers. Hence, the middle man/agent. Who is also the Ben Flores of Apex Motorsports. And also my mechanic for my M3. Each to his own way of dealing with life.

Seller probably doesn't care. I wouldn't want to talk to people offering 9k for a car either. Middle man probably stands to make a few bucks from doing this..and can probably make more money for the greater amount that he sells the car for.
What are thoughts on this car? 18k seems high but good grief do I miss my ZHP. I've had a 2006 330i and 2007 335i since and they never compared. Drove a few F30s and they just seem dull. When my 2003 was done with its lease in 2006 BMW wanted 25k for the car. Hard to believe it's worth this much still...
Any advice? No I wasn't thinking 9k offer. Just 18k sounds high. Wife would probably call me a fool for wanting to spend 20k with taxes on an 8 year old car.

I sold my car last July for $18,900. It had 61,000 miles on it. It was in outstanding condition. Imola red on natural brown. I believe that $18K for this car is more than I would spend.
That said, $18,000 is a starting point in the negotiations. A ceiling is set ($18K). Up to someone to find the floor (and perhaps a middle ground).

Careful with this...it is a salvage. This is a relisting from quite some time now...no buyers. At least, he refreshed his photos.....

So I looked at. Couple of important things.
VIN: WBAEV53443KM05089
Mileage: 79,7XX
Year: 2003
This isn't a 2004.
Condition: really, really good. I'm not trained so I can't tell if a car has had an accident but the body, the paint, etc appear impeccable. It drove very nicely (if a little slower than I remember mine being). Everything was just well cared for. The records didn't indicate any repairs to the engine, water pump, fuel pump, power steering.
So I have a question for the experts:
What kind of things can I expect to replace in the next 10-20k miles? This is a 9 year old car with 80k miles. So while low for CA standards it's still not undriven.
What's the most expensive thing that can go wrong with it?
What's a fair price given the fact it's hot 5-6k more miles and it's a year older than originally expected? KBB is showing 14k for excellent condition. Edmunds 12.5k, I think KBB is closer to reality, maybe a bit more. Can't see going to 18k on this car though given the year.

As far as I know. I have no idea what it's worth. I was wondering if the board had any input. 18k seems extreme for a car this old and probably in need of the entire cooling system needing replacement.

I wouldn't offer $18k...but that's pretty close. But...it is a Westie....so maybe more like $16.5k-$17k is right?

to me, this car is worth $17k if it's had all the proper maintenance done for 80k miles. cooling system, cabs, fluids, brakes, etc. if none of that has been done, the price is probably closer to $14-15k. def not worth $18k. OP claims complete maint records, so this car should actually be fairly easy to price.
Cooling system hasn't been done. Brakes, etc have.
Just heard back and he won't take less than asking price until they try to sell it longer. Shrug.

It's in nice shape. I just expect to dump 1k into it for needed preventative maintenance. I told him 16k today. The current answer is that the owner wants 18k.
He said if the owner doesn't get bites at 18k after putting it on multiple sites maybe he'll consider less.
18k seems like a lot of jack for a very nice 9 year old car that sold for 44k brand new. My 2003 Silver Gray ZHP was outfitted almost exactly the same way:

Good luck on purchasing. I would only consider it at that price if it was a 2005. Otherwise, I think your offer at 16k was very fair. Many other zhp's are going to hit the market being spring.

After hearing from a few people my offer seems a bit high still. Guessing the owner is stuck on a value so I'm moving on.

Owner is not very flexible in his selling price. He will soon learn of the meaning of market pricing.....not emotional pricing. Ask me how I know.....another reason why I moved on.

I understand the seller, though. Doesn't want to sell it below his asking price. Maybe he's prepared to keep it for the long haul if he doesn't get his price. If it needs to be sold, though, he'll probably have to lower asking price.
Wondering if the seller is coming to his senses yet. Someone in San Marcos has a 2005 Ci with manual, 96k miles and that guy only wants 17.9k. Still too high but at least it's a 2005.

Then yes it is a little high for that year and mileage.
As far as cooling I bought Level II and substituted the ECS parts for OEM. The kit was $397 shipped to my house and I did work myself.
Maybe a different car will pop up for you...

woops, i was under the impression that it was 28k miles and not 76k or whatever it's at now. I caught the 28k from the first few sentences in the listing.
This car without service records definitely shouldn't be this high. I was wondering why there weren't Auto headlights in a 2004...
It has ZKW Xenon's so you know those need to be replaced. (2003 = definitely burned)
Cooling system (Water pump, thermostat, coolant etc.)
Brakes
Coils
Plugs
I bought my car with 103,000 miles 2 years ago for $5,500 less. Only ~23k mile difference.
Got an email. They sold it for 15.5k. Funny, as I offered him more in March but I guess at that time he was too proud to take my offer. I offered 16k at the beginning of March. People are odd...
