Purchased from Tischer about 3 weeks ago, decided to go a different route. Brand new, in box and ready to ship out.
Tischer's price is $60 with free ground shipping.
I'll go one better and save someone $5.
$55 shipped to CONUS via paypal instant transfer (I don't want to incur fees).
Thanks

You could also request that the buyer send the money as a "gift". That way they'll get charged the fees instead of you.

well many don't know if a "gift" is sent you are not protected under Paypal's terms and conditions to be able to file a dispute or claim if something goes south.
I obviously don't plan on ripping anyone off but say I ship it and it gets lost in the mail, then what? I'm out $55 or the buyer is out $55? Who files the insurance claim? Because of the many possibilities of things that can go wrong (and have gone wrong in many cases in my time selling items over forums) I prefer to keep it a straight sale transaction and just request an instant transfer from the buyers bank account. For a smaller item like this it's highly unlikely pulling a payment from a checking account is going to prevent a sale - if it was a set of $3500 BBS wheels that's different, some might want to pull out the plastic for that.

what about the 'personal - other' classification?

not sure. If the buyer does insist on using a CC then I'd rather still do a "sale" transaction and just add 3.9% for the incurred fees *it's like $2

is this knob heavier than the stock knob that comes on all ZHP's?

I'm pretty sure the knob that udubbadger is selling is heavier than the OEM ZHP knob. I replaced my OEM ZHP knob with this same p/n and it was noticeably heavier.

interesting, i assumed it wasn't heavier when i was looking at it on Tischer's/turner's website. i ended up going the route of the BMW performance 6spd metal weighted knob, not only for the looks because of the weight with it.

About 72 hours ago I could've weighed the two.
But then hacksaw happened to my old one.

So...a ZHP knob, isn't always a ZHP knob? I see one for M Tech II, one for 6 speed (ZHP short shift I assume), and one without the ///M.

I'm 99% sure the OEM shift knob on a ZHP optioned car is externally/visually equivalent to the knob that we buy now (25117896886) but weighs less, but that is where my first hand experience ends.

Just weighed the ones I have:
Original one from 2006 - 147 grams
One I bought in 2009 - 151 grams
BMW Performance - 168 grams

OK.....the new is 4 grams heavier. Weird.

The weighting process is probably not very consistent. If we assume they are supposed to be 150 grams, +/- 3 grams = 2%
Who knows, possibly different suppliers too.

I'd bet this is pretty accurate. BMWfans.info lists two part numbers for what we call the "ZHP" shift knob (black leather, silver ring around the bottom, ///M emblem), one that is 150 g & one that is 154 g (both are labeled "heavy version" :P).

yes i believe so. I think the weight is in the leather because my alcantara wrapped one (which was already on the car) is VERY much lighter than the new knob is in my hand.

So when they say "weighted" shift knob, its because it weighs less? I always assumed that meant it weighed more.

That's what it's supposeed to mean. We are just "Nuking" it.

anyone need one or should I post on E46f?
Let me review my checking balance, as I'm in the market. I'm also spending $360 on new ESS Gen 2 injectors, so I might be pushing it...
