So I found out that my e90 has a broken head bolt. After some research. This is a very common problem in the 06 N52 engine. And so far I have seen cost from $800 up to $4000 to fix. I was personally quoted $1800.
The problem occurs due to the magnesium block they had to use a softer metal bolt so they went with aluminum. At the factory they over torque the bolt putting stress on it and eventually snapping the bolt.
In my opinion this is not a problem that should happen on any car, let alone BMW.
I have found about 40 others this has happened to and 3 others that got BMW to do a good will fix out of warranty. I am currently working with apple BMW to see if BMWNA will do this. I will keep you guys updated.

Good luck Cody. It certainly sounds like a problem bmw should fix for free.

Horray!! Great Update, Cody. Did they replace all of the head bolts and torque to proper spec or just the broken one?
