What is that button thing actually called that is in by the sunroof switch?

I just installed a craftsman 05 build date 1/2 horse garage door opener and one remotes broken. Sears wanted 45 for a new one and i was gonna see if I could grab a BMW one for maybe that or less and give the other remote to my dad. I am not sure as to what I would need or which one basically.

Thanks

UGDO (universal garage door opener) or HomeLink.

you won't find the "nice" style for $45 by nice i mean the white painted buttons (not embossed). finding one that isn't worn looking is tough too. little buggers command a lot of value for some reason. extremely regret not yanking mine out of my first ZHP.

In later chassis...chasses....chassii...chassises? it was moved to the rearview mirror which you can do as well....but nowhere near $45 either.

Yeah, get a rearview mirror with these buttons. Gonna cost way more than a universal remote opener though.

Nice. It's one of my favorite (and obviously most used) additions.

Was that the mirror with homelink or just the homelink that goes in the roof console? Guessing the latter.

Get a momentary push button switch and run wires to a hidden garage door opener, solder them on the button contact and your done. Cost me approx $10 to do. Hid the switch inside my rear ash tray. You can't even see it, works Great!

That's a great idea Gary, I'll look into that when the weather warms up.

I got the other remote to work I resynced it to the opener and it's fine. I put a bid on an opener any way so I'll see how that goes but for now I stuck it on the inside of the sun glass compartment with some putty tack. It's easily removable and hidde, it's a small opener so it works there good.
