Finally installed my APEX ARC-8 Anthracite 17x9 that I purchased during the group buy a few months back. They are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport 245/40/17. I loved the look of my Style 135s, but damn were they heavy.
Lost ~8-10lbs per wheel.

Yes it is noticeable. Seems to handle better too with the 245 Michelins compared to the 225 (front and rear *cry*) Random brand the PO had on the car.

I'm anxiously awaiting the next round of 17" group buys. I'm definitely picking up a set. 2 sets of tires and they pay for themselves.....and 40lbs of unsprung (rotational on top of that ) is substantial to say the least.

i like the way the back sits, although maybe a bit "meatier" of a tire would fill it better. the front, with the smaller wheel looks a little different though.
overall, i do like the look.

Concur. I'm going 255/40 for the added meat and footprint. No reason not to on a x9, but I'm sure Katu has his reasons.

245/40/17 is the largest they make Pilot Super Sports (in 17"). It had such good reviews I wanted to try it out. Maybe 255 next time with a different brand.

That thing is BEAUTIFUL. I really only like zhp's with stock rims. I think the 135's are what makes the ZHP's standout the most. But those rims are an exception, freakin great.
BRGcoopahS, I agree. The 135's are beautiful, one of my favorite OEM rims. I just wanted a wider / lighter / unique rim I could rotate :)

does anyone know the weight of the 18 inch ARC-8s? curious if there's any weight savings over the 135s. i love the ARC-8 design but the 17s look a little small to me, probably because i'm used to the 18" 135s.

Did a quick google search, I pulled these specs off what looked like an e46 M3 group buy. So the offsets are for M3's I believe.
Edit** found a few more for front sizes
18x8.5" ET38 - 18.45lbs
18x9.0" ET42 - 18.65lbs
18x9.5" ET22 - 19.10lbs

Good looking ZHP there.
As much as I know that the 'zhp' rims are part of the 'special (or non)-ness', I hate them with a passion.
I just hate multi spoke wheels in general.
My dream is to get style 264, 5-spokes on mine someday.
Someone here had a ZHP with 264's on it - and it looked brilliant.

Indeed! I considered going with the 18s and honestly they probably would look a little better than 17s. I went with 17s because: the rims are cheaper (MSRP $259 vs $299 / 17x9 vs 18x9), the tires are slightly cheaper, and overall lighter setup.
That said, with a 18x9 you have more options to get a wider tire. Either way you can't go wrong!

It looks like APEX recommends:
18x8.5 @ ET38
or
18x9 @ ET42
Personally I'd go with a square setup (front and rear the same size) for both the rims and the tires. My understanding is the coupes have a bit more space to work with, but depending on how wide you want to go, you may need spacers or to roll your fenders. I have not done either of those, hopefully someone with more knowledge running 18s can comment on width.

Clean as hell man, I love everything about it. Paint is looking sharp too, and great choice with the wheels from an aesthetics and performance standpoint!
Edit: Yes in 18" Katu is correct about what Apex recommends. Some run the 18x9.5" Et35 in the rear of the coupe, but you will probably have to roll your fenders to do that. The benefit there is that you get a concave look. Running stock sized tires one either of the widths of Apex wheels will fit without rubbing, although a 225 on a 9" looks funny.
Edit: I agree with Dane. I did measure a front and rear of one of the three sets of 135s I had and got weight closest to this guys post from E46F:
Front - 18x8
Overall Diameter 19.56" (497 mm)
Overall Width 8.88" (226 mm)
Backspacing 6.31" (160 mm)
Offset 1.85" (47 mm)
Weight 28.16 lb (12.77 kg)
Rear - 18x8.5

Offset 2.01" (51 mm)

My measurements put both front and rear wheels at between 28-29lbs, that was on an ultimate hanging scale accurate down to a hundredth of a pound (IIRC).
24-26lbs a wheel for 135s is incredibly optimistic.
