I'm located in Knoxville, TN. The closer the better. Any car in the Maryland-Virginia area would be a plus too as that's where I'm bringing my M3 to meet it's new owner. Thanks!

Look at Neil22's coupe, I had a coworker who said he wanted a ZHP and was going to show him Neil's, but he folded like a cheap suit yesterday when we had our first snow/sleet. Neil emailed me this week that he's moving from MD to Northern VA next weekend, so probably in the area where you're delivering your M3.

Yeah, do you buy one that's turn key, well maintained and needs nothing, or do you buy one with a couple of pimples, fix them and find a couple of more. I've been both routes, the former is more enjoyable and you don't self-doubt your decision a couple of weeks later.

MiniD,
Did you find one yet? I'm negotiating price on one right now, likely going to buy it, not sure if I'll keep it or not, just trying to save it from a trade-in. About your price range.
'04 coupe TIAG, blk lthr, 6 spd, 104K miles, cold weather pkg, 2nd owner. It had 80k on it in May/June 2011 when it was sold, the 2nd owner commutes 150 miles per day and racked up 25k miles in 7 months, he's parked it now. It has new tires, new thermostat, new DISA, and new MAF. Brakes are like new, handles well, everything works as it should? Mechanical needs: just because of mileage, I'd do the cooling system overhaul, no noises but I smelled anti-freeze; needs belts but do that during the former; VCG just beginning to seep; no VANOS noises at all. Cosmetically, it has a bump on the driver's side rear bumper, actually cracked the plastic; the steering wheel needs a Coby redo; and a small bit of bolster wear on the passenger side front seat, not the drivers. Otherwise, cosmetically it's a garage kept beauty, no accidents and no paintwork. Drove it on Sunday and it's every bit as tight as our 26K mile ZHP.
I tried to buy this car at Thanksgiving, but he held it for a coworker ( who never could come up with the money). Then I bought the 325ci for my son for Xmas and have done x,y,& z to it. Since it's the same color, what are the chances that I could make a swap that momma won't notice?? Nah, just on exhaust sound, I'll get busted, plus she understands the cube trim, alcantara, bumpers, etc.
