Email I received from the creator of Cars and Coffee Williamsburg today:
I bolded the below, as I want to ensure we represent the Mafia expertly. It will be fun and we should be received well.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________________________
Hello Dane,
Tried to call you last night to welcome you and your group to C&C Wmbg... Glad to hear that you've chosen our cruise-in as a highlight for your blow-out weekend. ...Many groups do! Just last month, my Z car club (I am president of ZCAR out of Richmond) kicked off the spring season with a cruise of the historic triangle, gathering first at C&C.
Nice to know info:
We have plenty of parking - room for expansion you might say. We're hoping that you and yours " get a taste" for C&C Wmbg and frequently come back to join us from time to time or better yet for those within range - EVERY TIME. A recommendation to enhance your visit is for you to gather your people at an off site location gathering place that allows you all to group up and caravan in. We once had a group of Vipers show up 20 strong - perhaps the largest contingent of Vipers to ever caravan together anywhere. A real treat and jaw-dropper for C&C patrons already on site that morning. There remain many sorry they missed C&C that day I assure you. With your expected numbers - you'll surely get a similar welcome!
As a safety note for you and your members. C&C observes a No Rev / No Burnout policy and expects the policy to be observed within a generous radius of the event so as to maintain C&Cs healthy reputation within the community. This policy not only gives us the general appearance of a mature/responsible group of enthusiasts, but assures that our nearly 2 year record of ZERO incidents / ZERO accidents remains perfect. As group leader C&C prefers that you instruct your people about our policy prior to your arrival, and to help promote it while on site as well. Please caution your members that displays of speed when departing C&C is especially frowned upon.
C&C looks forward to hosting your group now and in the future.
Thank you for choosing C&C for your event.
Sam Stevens
Event creator / coordinator Cars & Coffee Williamsburg

I'm thinking about staying at a Bed and Breakfast for a day or two before the meet so my wife and I can explore Williamsburg... any suggestions? (Keep in mind that I'm a poor-ish college student with a part time job)
I looked at staying at the Wedmore Place for one night and doing one of their packages that's $280 for the night with lunch, breakfast, wine tasting/tour, entry to colonial williamsburg... I've never been in the area and really don't know what to do, and since I start summer school on the following Monday, I would sure love to extend this trip into a micro vacation...

Isn't Jamestown out that way? Colonial Williamsburg is fascinating. If you go to Jamestown they have a "mock up" of how the settlement used to look like and they have people baking stuff that they would have eaten back then.
Pretty neat stuff. I grew up in Hampton near Newport News

Hey DW, a thought after reading the awesomeness on the schedule - perhaps we could put together a thread of specific addresses of the various event venues which folks can refer to if they get lost, have to walk the dog, need a cat nap, etc. and need to catch up with the family after getting separated. Just a thought that everyone (someone?) may find useful.

Little heads get along great with me! Just give them a helmet and send them on there way, I can teach them about nature and how to irritate mommys. All kinds of fun stuff.
P.S. if anyone wants I can make buffalo chicken dip when I get there. Just need a open grill.

Cake will happen. Send me the "Face of Zippy" and we'll have it done on top. What do you want the cake to look like Boss?
Everyone should bring a small present as well....all wrapped up and such. That would really embarass her. We definetely need to sing Happy Birthday to her...........AT CARS AND COFFEE! LMAO. I'm just getting started her.....
Like you said though....we could not say anything...all day....then bust everything out at Bellisimo's that night (2100 to close)

That's an awesome picture of Zippy and he's already got his own bimmer...:biggrin Awesome!!! :thumbsup
Thanks, Charlie. That bimmer was bought by Dane and Keith back in 2010 (Christmas). They bought it for Zippy before he was born. Yes, I have the best moderators and friends on Earth.

There's a polish student at my school who was being searched for inappropriate substances. Mid search I lay my eyes on a hat that says "ZHP" on it. I stop everything and launch into a round of questioning on the hat. Hahahha. I think I shared that story here already. Not sure.

I was really looking forward to serving up 8 or 10 London Broils to everyone.

Everything OEM except for the coolant level sensor. Hey, it's $9, if it doesn't work it's no skin off my bones.
I think I have enough coolant, but I may need a tad more. Anyone got some more coolant they're willing to bring and I can borrow? I don't wanna spend an extra $20 on an entire bottle of coolant if all I need is 1/4th of it. Will exchange a beer or two. Or labor.
Also sexual favors. But we will NEVER EVER speak of it should that services/goods exchange happen nono

It is with much sadness that I have to drop out of the meet. Being off work for almost 2 months due to my broken hand and surgery took its toll on my financial situation. I'm just trying to get out of the hole I dug and get ready for school in October. Maybe next year I hope..
No worries my friend. Get well.

Dane,
I don't think so. John will be flying in to Norfolk late on the 18th. I will leave your place to pick John up at the airport and then bring him back so he can greet everyone. It will be a very late, but fun, evening...:thumbsup
I used one of my "free" airline tickets to fly John to the meet. Looking forward to meeting up with everyone :biggrin

I was originally planning on attending this meet. I missed the last one in Vegas due to family issues. My wife and I were going to fly back and make a nice vacation out of it. Unfortunately the last few months have been a complete nightmare in every way, mostly my wife loosing her job just after buying a new house. We also lost two grandparents in the last two months.
I would like to donate some funds towards the meet as part of the Mafia. I can't afford much right now but still would like to send something. Dane if you could let me know where to send it I would appreciate it.
Have a great time everybody!

I experienced half of Dane's commute today -- holy cow, how does he maintain his sanity, some NY/NJ/PA drivers have invaded Norfolk. Nothing but left lane riders, oblivious to posted speed limits ( they were at or under it) while the rest ofus were trying to exceed it. Those coming from the airport on Friday, recommend some mind relaxing refreshments on the plane before you take that ride, it was frustrating. And I'm used to the DC daily jam, at least our high volume justifies the slow pace.
Also recommend radio station 96.5 anywhere within 30-40 miles of Dane's, classic rock. And for those driving in, your suspension did not go south at the end of the trip, I-64 has big expansion gaps, made the 20's on 55 profile tires rattle my Denali.

The quiet before the storm, that moment was.
Less than a few hours later, the place would have people rolling in from allllll over the place and you'd barely be able to move a car there without having to play musical cars!
The lot was surprisingly maneuverable though, considering the amount of cars. It was just a wee bit difficult...

NOTE 1: Last year we had 26 cars. This year we have 40 cars. The ZHPMafia parking team is going to do its best at accomodating everyone at my residence with parking. With that said....when you show...please be patient with the fellas helping you park.
Additionally....should you find yourself....sitting in front of my house......with cars jammed up the driveway.....what should you do?
1. Put flashers on.
2. Honk horn a few times.
3. The last people to show up (Should be at end of driveway)....will hop in their car.
4. Both cars drive to 7770 Croaker Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188 (James City County Library-JCCL), and park one vehicle....then carpool back. It's about 2 miles back down croaker road, the opposite way you came to get to my house (Back across I64).
5. Head back to my place. That last spot will be coned off, to prevent someone pulling in.
I think I can get 40 cars in at my place....but if I can't, I still want all to be able to attend the meet and greet. Like Family...we're just gonna have to make it work.
The JCCL parking lot is very secure. As a matter of fact, the Police park in there frequently.
Note 2: Watch out for deer, vermin, and mice on my road. Deer being the most important.
Note 3: Reminder to bring a chair.
Note 4: Reminder to bring cash for the silent auction.
Note 5: Reminder to have fun.

Now at $761.12
