I've already acquired a compatible Garmin GPS, and watching the prices for this as it has come down to $94 on amazon. My brother in law already got his for his car and he says it works pretty well...

Thanks for the tip about this on this forum...

EcoRoute HD, which is just a plug and play (onto the OBD port) and displays all sort of (real time) engine data AND can check OBD codes and reset them for $ 94 (if you already have a compatible Garmin GPS):
Jusr seeing the real time coolant temp. and ability to read and reset OBD SES codes is worth the $$, IMO. There are some cool fuel-efficiency calculators on this thing, too...

That's awesome! Might pick this up depending on if my garson is compatible.

Looking forward to the review!

So reading the website, it sounds like you need to be running the android app to get most of the real time monitoring:

Provides customizable gauges to monitor RPM, air/fuel mixture*, oil pressure*, oil temp*, coolant temp, air flow, fuel flow*, air pressure, and more

*Only available on the Android app

But still pretty awesome. I'd pay well to have a degree coolant temp and PSI oil pressure readout.

Yes, if you're using it with your phone. If you have a compatible Garmin it has a section for the EcoRoute HD funtions. Coolant temp is for sure nice to see all the time but unfortunately, there is no oil pressure readout.

I think I posted about this before, but if you have an Android phone, you can get the Torque app, and then get one of those Bluetooth OBDII readers. I got one on eBay real cheap, and the app has a ton of "displays" to add. It even puts a "*" next to the displays that are getting data, so you don't add useless displays (for example, no boost display if you're not a turbo'd vehicle etc). I have the Speed, RPMs, Coolant Temp, Engine Load, Intake Temp, and Throttle % on my displays. This is because you can upload the data to a web server and see it all on a nice graph, and with GPS on, it will show your location and what the data points were read at during that location.

I have this setup also. I think my ebay bluetooth adpater is broken because Torque keeps telling me it's getting errors however all the readings are updated quickly. Would be nice for Torque to have a warning if a reading passes a certain level (dings if you go over 80mph, dings if coolant temp rises, etc). Oh and the displays are butt ugly too :(

I agree on the displays. I haven't played with it much lately. I put it on my tablet, and that is pretty snazzy, but I have to buy the premium app to get the tablet to be able to upload to the web server.

Very soon, guys - in the middle of moving/furnishing house and working full time, and all that stress.
Thanks much for the interest.
Will not disappoint - and will update as soon as the dongle is active.
