Let's see if any of you have experienced this/know what the problem is:
So I had been driving my car for about an hour yesterday, all highway... had the heat on 75, fan speed about halfway, nice warm air blowing out of the vents. I pull off the highway and into a convenience store parking lot. As soon as the car came to a dead stop, the air coming out of the vents immediately turned cold. I thought this was odd, engine temp. needle was top dead center. So I turned the heat up to 91, rolled the little blue and red adjustment wheel all the way up to the red, and maxed the fan speed. ICE COLD AIR. I leave it running, run into the store, grab a 6-pack of Smuttynose IPA, come back out and it is still blowing cold air. As I leave the parking lot and back onto the highway, it immediately gets hot again.
My suspicion is that it has something to do with the thermostat. Coolant is full, pH is correct, freezing point is -32, and waterpump was replaced about 30k ago.
Thoughts?!?!
