I took this pic of my car last winter during a blizzard in January... and decided what the hell, and submitted it for Bavarian Autosport's, "BMW in Winter" photo contest.

Welp, I got this email today:

Congratulations, Channing, you are the winner in the BMW in Winter category!

All the winning photos and runners-up will be posted on our web site and Facebook page in the coming weeks. We will be sending your $100 savings certificate in early January, and the framed print of your photo sometime in February. In addition, your photo will be published in one of our 2012 catalogs or newsletters. (We are not sure which one yet.)

Please reply to this e-mail to let me know you have received it.

Happy motoring,

Jay

Do you have 3k lows? or are your ZKW's burnt?

Does anyone else see yellow within the projector?

i see what you're saying but I sometimes get weird reflections on my AL's in pictures, it might be nothing. hopefully it's not the ZKW's being burned

My ZKW's are burnt to a crisp. Working on collecting the components for a retro-fit. The image in the driver's side projector is just the flash from the camera, I believe.

I currently have AL's fitted in the place of my ZKW's. I just got FX-R's for Christmas, so I'll probably be fitting those in my old ZKW housings that I have laying around. So then I might be selling my AL's. Let me know if you're interested in them.

FX-R's... Mmmmm...

Do you think there will be a big difference between the AL's and the FX-R's?

Couldn't find the thread where we were discussing this. VANOS ring measurements. The below represents my old ones, removed at 143k miles.

I'll let you know. Since I'm just got home, I was planning on getting some food. Then maybe I"ll put the car out of the garage and snap a few comparison pics. I'll just take the FX-R's out of the box and take the bulbs from the AL and put them in the FX-R's and snap a couple pics.

EDIT: Alright, just took some pictures. Here's one that I took that I thought was a good enough picture for a comparison. AL w/ ZKW lenses bottom, FX-R w/ ZKW-R lenses top.
