I write this as I sit in a parking lot in a car that won't start.... The only indication I had something wrong was a slight hesitation under acceleration last night and a more pronounced hesitation this morning. After driving it to school this morning I got back in the car (20 min later) and it cranks but won't start

Kinda sounds maybe like the FP went bad.
No SES light though?

Turn the key to off position then put it in 2 position. Turn off all the heaters and stuff even headlights. Wait for 10 sec give it a try again. (Thats what my dad says)

I'm guessing fuel pump.

I would have to say Fuel Pump.
Your car will turn over but will not start. When you turn your key do you hear the Fuel Pump?

Didn't hear FP I was thinking pump or filter it cranks but no wont start... No SES light it's just disheartening when it goes from running like a champ to dead in the water

Sucks to hear. Definitely sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Fuel pumps are pretty easy to install.

Are they external to the fuel tank?

IIRC, fuel pump is in the tank under the rear seat.

In the fuel tank.....passenger side. Also have the secondary over on the drivers side.
Both are under rear seat.
Very easy diy. About $200.00

Definitely doable in the parking lot. Only takes a few minutes.

I have about 87,000 miles on the car now... probably gonna attempt to swap out the pump in the parking lot tonight just in time for the temperature to drop and the snow and ice to start falling...

To confirm fp failure, take the back seat out then turn key to position 2 and listen for the pump. You should hear the pump activate for 3 to 4 seconds. As all of our friends have stated, easy fix. I did the fp and the sender in about 30 minutes. Hardest part is banging off the retaining washer. You will need a big ass screw driver and mallet to bang it loose. Make sure you get new seal for the pump. Also, put the seal in first before attempting to set the fp back into the gas tank.
