All:
I will be replacing my front sway bar end links with LEMFORDER end links this Friday. My symptoms are clunking sound from drivers side wheel area on reverse and at low speeds. Looks like a very easy DIY, however, does anyone out there know the torque values for the 16mm end bar link bolts?

Would you concur with my diagnosis based on the symtoms?

Yes. As long as you've eliminated CABs as a suspect.
Roll slowly forward and then stab the brakes. If you get a clunk, then it might be the CABs.

I replaced the CABs in August with the Meyle HDs. This clunking at low speeds just started around Thanksgiving. I'm just hoping it is not the control arm, but I doubt it.

I think its CAB's maybe. The end links only transfer weight from one side of cat to other....in turns.
Unless of course you can see they've failed.

Make sure you have a skinny open ended wrench.

When I've had endlinks fail, it's usually noticeable as a clunking sound when going over bumps as well.
You're CABs shouldn't be shot already unless one was defective.

Thanks guys. I will replace the end links then if the problem remains check the CABs. They look good though. Yes I have a nice thin 16 mm bike wrench that will work well.

Sway bar end link replacement complete and successful. Was a touch harder than I thought because I had some trouble getting the torque wrench situated properly. However, got all the bolts torqued to 48 lbs. What was interesting was that I thought that the clunking sound was coming from the driver's side front wheel compartment. However, the passenger side end link was completely shot. The driver's side end link was on it's way out but still had some life in it. Well, took her out for a spirited drive and all was right in Penelope's world.

Oh and for informational purposes, the Lemforder end links require a 5/8 socket for the bolt and an 18 mm flat wrench to keep it from spinning. The end links that were replaced required a 5/8 socket and a 16 mm flat wrench.

I bought the front end sway links that were too big for my car....I have them for sale as they've never been used. I've emailed KW about getting me the shorter ones but I wonder if anywhere has them?

Which ones did you buy. How could they be too long?

Typically.....coilovers take shorter end links.
just started hearing the clunking from my car this month...all of a sudden. It might be my time for end links as well.

Yeah coil overs seem to make the mounts of the end links lower on the shocks. I'm not sure why since there is extra length up above to add the mounts. Well if anyone wants them I have Meyle HD from AutoHausAZ. Whatever price you feel is fair for my mistake.

Decent pics in here.....endlinks look totally stubby compared to Stock.
