Me? Thanks BP. Last night I contacted Laidback (owner) on ///MFest and he is going to do something custom for me. I'm sending him my chrome C & i and he will have his painter first do them gloss black. Then he will mask off the sides, paint the face of the C in Imola and the i in Dakar. Since I'm the first one to come up with the idea and he loves it my price will be $FREE!!!

So imagine something like this but with my badges:

The red "C" might fade into your car color and it'd look like "330 i". :dunno

Yeah, I thought of that possible issue already. That's why it will be shadowed in black so it still has some separation. Its really hard to explain, you kinda just have to imagine it. The other way I was looking at it is I will be sending him my old badges so if I don't like how it turns out (A) I can put my black ones back on (B) it cost me nothing

Yeah, the blacked out badges do look good. I got mine from Bimmian as well. Didn't know that you could get these from the dealership though....

I had no idea either. I was planning to buy them online when I saw them at the dealer one day. They have matte or gloss black. I'm guessing it is new because I've seen them on the 335is so it's probably not something that was around a few years ago.

just being anal I guess, I actually need to take them off and fix them. they sit about 5mm too low and the gap between the 3's is 5mm too wide compared to the one between the 3 and the 0.

I think with the ZHP the gloss will look better....will match the gloss trim. The matte black, in my opinion, looks better on the ///M since the trim is matte.

remember that on the sedan we have matte moldings on every panel. truck emblems are closer to matte trim than the gloss shadowline by far.

On ZHPs, whether it's a coupe or sedan the trim is glossy. Forgot that regular 3-series have matte black trim. In that case, if your trim is matte, then I think the matte badges will look better. :thumbsup

For the ZHP, my opinion is that the glossy black badge will look better.
