Backup camera

Due to a back problem, e.g., difficult to turn around to see thru back window, I will be installing a wireless backup camera on my 2005 CIC ZHP (receiver is also a mediocre GPS combo). The camera will be wired into the backup light wire which will activate the camera when tranny is in reverse. I just installed one in my Denali. Works great.

BUT, on the BMW will this bring about a default code or ?? Thanks.

There are DIYs on e46f.c, and nothing was said about codes.
