Ok so I joined last summer to see what I could learn about these cars. Eventually I was going to have to get some new wheels after 20 years in my E30 318is. I was on no real timetable. Not that I was looking to retire it, just that I really like the E46 body style, prices have dropped to where I comfortable considering the the youngest starts college in the fall. Finding a nice example now kind of makes sense.
I'm BMWCCA # 1406. I've have a 2002, 2002tii, E30 318is, E30 325iX, E34 525i sedan, & wagon, E39 525i wagon.
Last week I was thrown into the market for good when my E30 318is was rear ended, pushing me into the car in front.
In the last few days I've been checking out the classified section. If anyone is aware of a nice coupe I'm all ears.
Thanks
Warren

Warren, welcome to the forum. Also, you're one of the first members of the BMW CCA. I'm guessing you joined during 1976-1978?

Welcome. Also, special welcome considering your OG status with BMWCCA. Too bad about the 318is. The (not special) ZHP is an excellent choice.

Welcome, sorry about the e30, I have two currently(one with a dead transmission). Did you buy it back and part it out, that m42 is a great engine for a 4cylinder, and timing chain is a plus. Good luck on finding your new car.

Marcus, I'm surprised I in the minority being a CCA member. I'm aware the club is not reaching out too well to new generations. It scares me that I might be amongst the oldest here. I joined in 1972, for those interested in math I was 19. Let’s not start a thread on age.
Bruce, Neil's is on the list as soon as I can get there.
Hornung418 and Kpro, Pictures of the 02 and Tii, they are around but not cataloged and certainly not digital. If I come across something I'll post. Kpro that 325i looks pretty wild, you to DE events or autocross.
Johnmadd, Too early to say about buyback. It is not out of the question, I have a 02 shell with no rust. The M42 doesn't just drop in put it has been done; I've seen one and read about a few others.
Thanks again
Warren

Thanks :) I've ran many many DE events (42 to be exact) and auto-x too. I usually use my prelude, but have had the 325 at BeaverRun for an DE earlier this year and have done a few auto-x's with it. I bought it as a "beater" not to be modded and you see what happened to that, lol :)
Where are you in Jersey? I'm just south of philly near Cherry Hill :) Gonna throw something together once I'm out there permanently for the local zhpmafia guys to get together and meet each other...most likely in the dead of winter lol.
