I'm looking to get rid of my highly modified 98' M3 for a ZHP (a trade would be nice!). I came across this car - at Godspeed motors. They always have a ZHP in their inventory.
Anyways, what are your thoughts? I don't like the silver moldings, and that's not the right steering wheel, is it?

Fwiw, it has been in an accident. The title is still clear.
Thanks!:biggrin

Looks clean... Any work history with it?

What was the accident type? ie: side impact, rear impact, front impact, etc... The type of impact can have ummmm impact on future parts wearing out faster or flat out failing. A number of things dont' get replaced in accidents and don't show up for a little while.
Just a heads up is all. Looks nice otherwise, and yes that steering wheel looks correct, just all leather.

for a 2004 the steering wheel would be a replacement. looks like the perf leather ZHP wheel.
the moldings are pretty easy to replace from what i've seen. another member switched his out recently, back to black. and i agree, looks much better on sedan.

Thanks guys for the quick responses. Don't know the type of accident, just checking out the carfax where it shows it's been in an accident.
I now await the dealer's response..

That's not a perforated leather wheel, just a (already quite worn) replacement leather wheel.
Body moldings are easy to switch back to black, costs about $250 in new parts from the dealer, obviously less if you go used. I just did this on mine.
I'd need the police report + before/after photos + parts list used to repair before I'd even consider that car anywhere over $10,000.

+1, one thing you might want to look into is whether or not airbag went off, in your case you dont know whether they replaced the steering wheel as part of alcantara steering wheel being worn or just a full replacement after accident or what.

The first thing I noticed without completing reading the post is that it has had body work done on the right front. Very noticable. IMHO, given the mileage and the knowledge of accident, a more suitable specimen can be found.

I'd say my car is a much better deal.

Certainly is - I drooled over your car for a good 10 minutes! Unfortunately, your car is a bit far away (Located in Knoxville, TN) and I'm more or less looking to trade my Evo 6 speed E36 M3.

You won't be sorry if you travel for the right car. Eli's car is that type of "right" car.

Traveled too, twice. 1000 miles and 500 miles. Both very worth it. My dad has flown to NM from SC for a car. If everything else is right, go for it. The trip is fun.
The trade thing might be a problem, but an Evo e36 will draw a premium on the open market regardless. Sell then buy!

I enjoyed that part of it (the traveling). Just another memory that adds to the non-special nature of the ZHP.

So that particular car sold, and I found this one:

Price seems low. Clean title. Decent mileage, nav, looks to be in good condition - am I just not up to date on ZHP prices or does that seem low!

The exhaust tips are SHINY. Shows attention to detail, so either the previous owner(s) took care of the car, or the dealer just shined it up to make it look pretty for the sale. Looking at the interior, I'd say the former.
Looks like a good deal to me.

Not sure what you mean. Stock tips look the same in size and shape... I know stock ones are supposed to shine if taken care of!
Care to elaborate on the "parallel exhaust tips"? Perhaps the angle of the pic is playing with both of our minds?

you can see how the outer one on the stock exhaust is slightly recessed compared to the inside one

if you look closely, the ZHP exhaust tips are slightly staggered in length, not equal. that is to say, if you draw a line perpendicular to the inner exhaust tip, the outer exhaust tip will be slightly behind the line.
example:
http://photos.ecarlist.com/qx/yG/vb/8l/cQ/2l/oS/im/Wr/4m/0A_640.jpg
whereas in the following pic you can clearly see that the exhaust tips on the other zhp are perfectly equal in length. has to be aftermarket.

sorry for the misuse of the word 'parallel' obviously the exhaust tubes themselves are parallel to each other.

yeah, it's weird how they stick out so far. I'm not a fan.
but, if somebody decides to go for this car I saw the BMW Performance Exhaust on Modbargains for $550 (or if you just want the exhaust for your car)

I was referring to the second car, guys. :)
Even the second one looks a little weird due to the angle of the pics, but the tips look to be the same size as stock...
And on the first car, I definitely agree that it's not stock. lol
On second thought, perhaps the second one is aftermarket as well...
