So...I installed FCABs and swaybar bushings by Powerflex just over a month ago. Well the insert for one of the CABs has pulled out of the main bushing. Has anyone heard of this happening before?

Unfortunately, I have, Mike.

I read it in several threads when I was researching them.

Didn't seem like it was common, but also not unheard of.

Droid X. Tapatalk. Use it.

I asked my boss after I posted this apparently this problem is very common. Wish I knew about this before I bought them.

Ugh-- more common than I thought. Sux.

It was that, the noise complaints, and the harsher ride reports that made me go with the Meyle HDs.

Are these the 60mm bushings or the updated 66mm bushings? And more importantly, were they pre-pressed at PowerFlex or did you press them into your stock housings?

Well my e46 is an xi so no worries about which bushing and brackets sizes it has. They needed to be pressed in so the idiot mechanic pressed them. I also have been told that alot of times they are installed incorrectly. Which I do not understand how so. The purple center insert is what is popping out. Just annoyed that just about every part that I have bought recently has had issues or causing issues. I put need tires on the car at the sametime which are now all cupped because of the issue wit the CABs and the poor alignment.

I purchased them thru my work and yes they are taking them back as defective. I purchased a pair of Lemforder CABs with a part of rear lower bushings #3 for the trailing arm that the eccentric bolt #10 goes thru because the mechanic that last worked on my car snapped the head off one of them.

So...Here is what I find out. The driver's side CAB was installed correctly and the passenger's side was not. Grrrr....

Sorry to hear about that...Sucks are you going to stay with the Powerflex or change them out to the Lemforder? GL

^^OK, let me know how they are, I have powerflexes on my M5 and when I get my ZHP I'm upgrading the CABS, but with all all the feedback on powerflex I may go with your choice.

So if the install was done properly, then you would have no issues, correct?

Some far no issues with the lemforders. I compared them with the stock bmw bushings and they all the same. They are on car and it drives fine.

Probably...I am told that these are installed incorrectly all the time .

Found it now. I really don't want stock ones again. What if you were to try and fill the stock bushings with polyurethane?
