Right under the front fascia bumper and engine splash guard. There are three tabs that align into the splash gruard. What is/are suppose to go in there? Are there supposed to be rivets that goes in there? But I do notics anything in RealOEM specifying rivets. Would there be a small air dam similar to the 5 series? Again, RealOEM does not show anything....If anybody has a photo of this area, please do post. Thanks. BTW, yes, I do know that I have a broken tab that attaches into the left wheelwell....bummer. PO probably did not take care of this car. I have a lot scratches under the bumper running into curbs....and the bumper was repainted...bad job.

I'm about 99% sure that I do not have this. A hole in the bottom of the bumper isn't anything that seems normal. PO probably did it for some odd reason..

i've noticed this before and there's nothing there on mine either... i'm guessing its from a previous design and BMW never changed it (i dunno)???

the hole is actually stock, you should have it too. its where the bolt goes that connects the bumper to the body. you can see the other one in the picture too

I can't see it in your pic but there should be a corresponding hole in the splash shield correct? Mine has the expanding rivets part # 51-11-8-174-185. I ordered some spares a while back just in case I lose some or destroy some taking the shield off.

For whatever reason, the parts fiche diagrams don't show them in the correct spot but I took a guess that they would be #11 in this diagram. Listed under "underfloor coating".

That's what I figured. That those holes do serve a purpose to hold the bottom of the bumper together. The rivets are wider and larger due to the size of the hole. Thanks for the P/N.

You'd loooooove my bumper then; it's riddled with scrapes, gouges, and most importantly, ROCK CHIPS! :rofl

I just looked at my car and sure enough, the holes are present. Yet, IMHO they appear to be too large for any fastener. I'd rather think they are simply water drainage ports.

Mine looks just like yours does, underbelly pan above the bumper and nothing in those 3 holes.
My first ZHP was exactly like this as well.
I'm not sure how it is supposed to be.

Every M-tech II front bumper I've seen have these holes present. I wonder if they are for a model that we do not get here in the states. Maybe a diesel model. Or like rikdee said drainage.

Oops, wrong holes. The three loops take a standard push rivet; all three are present on my '05. The two larger holes surely are for drainage.

I would be nervous without the rivets installed. Apparently it stays in place without them though. :dunno

I had several large push rivets as spare. I used some of them for the spare hole to make the drain/splash guard frontal studiness with the lower bumper.
