Hello
I am trying to find out how to take out the plastice peice holding the leather to the armrest http://www.motormec.co.uk/pics/arm3.jpg
(picture is not of my car)
it looks like there are two screws on the bottom but that is it and i am having trouble getting the small caps off of the 2 bottom screws
I did what the guy in this video is talking about at (6:22-6:45 fast forward to it)
i ordered an armrest cover but do not know exactly how to get that bottom plastic off
Does anyone have any experience with this
any and all help is appreciated thank you

Actually there are 4. Two shallow, two deep if I remember right, under the inner shell.
Edit: you're just tryin to undo the hinge correct?

Permanently. Make sure I understand what you're trying to remove though.

Not gonna happen JP. I tried to pull this long piece out of an SMG....and ended up breaking it.
Why are you trying to remove?

Do you have a pic of what you got as a replacement? It might help us figure out what you need to do

I'm not near my car so I can look but my guess would be just muscle it if they're some plastic screws and buy new screws from the dealer. They can't be more than $0.50 each. (you'll have to go tomorrow making this a two day job. Also, they might have to order them since it's a uncommon part to replace making it longer)

Go to our sponsors site, cobywheel. There is a step by step guide to dissassembly (http://cobywheel.com/index.php/diy-files/center-arm-rest-removal). I followed it when I redid the armrest in alcantara. Its worked fine for me.
