I am in conversation with Hermes, and this question came out. It might not be ZHP, but the bottom line was concerning ZHP foggies. Came to the question of what other E46s that have the same foggies installed? Since both of us are looking for good sets of foggies with special attention on lenses without any or very minimum pitting. Please move the thread to the right place. Thanks.

It's close but not exactly the same as yours. Think of it like levels of some liquor. There are the many regular versions, M-Tech 1, 2, regular M3 bumper, M3 CSL...

They look like the regular E46s? Considering I am new to the E46s. They all look the same.

Your guys fogs are much smaller, im pretty sure about this.

IIRC, the fog lights are the same. The Mtech I just has that trim ring so it appears smaller.

So, what does M-Tech 2 look like?

Blasphemy. The Mtech1 or ZSP is a precursor to the "special" car you guys drive. It was only available in 01 and 02 model years. There are prefacelift ZSP and facelifted ZSP. The suspension upgrade was the same, the body kit was updated although different than the ZHP and it received style 67s I believe in addition to leather with bolsters and the sport steering wheel.. The shadowline, the cube trim, alcantara and the engine upgrades are non present.

This is becoming slightly off topic although I would like to resolve this question...

Lawrence, do you see the differences in bumper design? They're all slight changes from M-Tech 1 through the full CSL/GTR styles in what I think of as degrees of aggressive styling.

Dane, you had a sport package not a ZSP. Bumper design is completely different for Mtech1. ZSP was exclusive to 330.

ZSP was the option code for sport package, regardless of 325 or 330. The difference is that 325's did not get the bumprs and 330's did.
Dane's old car was a 325.

Rear bumpers are different from M-tech 1 and M-tech 2 as well. Also M-tech 1 is different for the coupes and convertibles.

Some 325i and 325xi did get the M-tech 1 bumpers which I've seen a few over the years. Another difference was that some 330s with ZSP also recieved tiag accent trim (headlight and front bumper inserts).

The Mtech1 or ZSP is a precursor to the "special" car you guys drive. It was only available in 01 and 02 model years.

To clarify, the 325 & 330 were available with their respective ZSP (Sport Pkg) from 2001 thru the end of E46 production.

The majority of US-spec 330 models have ZSP. You can usually spot it from the 17" Style 68M wheels. There were also a pair of 18" wheel options during those years, the generally preferred version of which is Style 71.

Can be a bit confusing these days, as owners replace damaged wheels & bumpers. Saw a gray 330ci ZSP last night with 135M (ZHP) wheels. And a neighbor has a E46 328i with M-Tech I bumper caps. Which would not have come from factory with those bumpers, even if that 328 has the pre-330 version of ZSP.

^ Good info... I think my view was jaded by the fact that I have an Mtech1 330 ZSP, not a regular ZSP, and was posting in reference to the original question of what is Mtech1.

I am going to go start my own forum for my special car....lol.
