Has anyone heard of Ultra Racing chassis braces for BMWs? I came across an ebay auction for chassis braces for e46s. Would we really see an improvement with chassis bracing?

I'd save your money. To my eye they don't look very well built (or even painted, for that matter). The design does not strike me as something that would create any kind of verifiable chassis rigidity improvement either.

In general seems like a pretty low rent operation...check out some of their youtube videos. The guy says that reduction in lateral G's indicates increased cornering performance (due to installation of a strut bar and rear sway). I've tried to think about that 10 different ways and can't come to the same conclusion.

Edit: I spent some more time looking through their technical explanations, etc. Not one mention of chassis specific testing for the E46, any hits of FEA....nothing.

Are you having a particular chassis flex issue you'd like to address?

Dane, They look bolt on.

I was just curious about it because I've in the passed had chassis braces on other cars which made a big improvement.

I would think if TMS or Bimmerworld doesn't offer chassis braces for BMWs then they are not needed.

I think this is dead on. If TMS doesn't put one out, I'd go ahead and say you/I don't need one either.

It might not have been class legal when they were racing E46's. Plus when you have a cage...
