yesterday i had a problem with my clutch pedal, it got really hard so i went to my mechanic and it turned out that the clutch needs to be replaced , so we got a new one and as we were replacing it it didnt fit so we pluged the cars vin number in some kind if program and discovered that the car had an smg gearbox:s is it possible?

SMG was not an option on the ZHP.

You would know if you had SMG because it looks like this and not a standard gear shifter.

FROM THE FAQ:
Question: Was the ZHP ever available in SMG?
Answer: No. We've discussed that issue here (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?1104-BMW-330-ZHP-w-SMG) and here (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?2494-ZHP-with-SMG).

If you had an SMG you wouldn't have a clutch pedal. What was different about your clutch?

If you had an SMG you wouldn't have a clutch pedal.
Another good point. SMG cars only have gas and brake pedals.

And you would have had paddle shifters.

There is the possibility then that your car isn't a ZHP but rather is a 330ci that maybe has some of the ZHP features such as the Mtech bumpers and such.

That's what I'm thinking. If mr hish would pm me the last 7 digits of his VIN I can run it.

no i dont have those but zhp didnt come with smg buth there a program on the computer where u put the cars vin number and it gives u all the parts of the car with there specs , so this is what puzzled me it showed us that the gear box was an smg :s which is making me crazy

Even if it was swapped to a 6 speed ZHP could not be ordered w/smg, maybe mech typed VIN# wrong off by a digit.????

ok....the two pedal/three pedal thing was throwing me off.
OP has three pedals, but some of the SMG elements?
Or has zero SMG elements, with a supposed SMG gearbox?

ZHP Registry doesn't verify VIN numbers, it only records them.

Anything is possible I guess but that would be a lot of swapping. Even if the cars were wired the same, which I doubt, think of all the stuff you'd have to change besides the tranny:
steering wheel
instrument cluster
center console and selector
driveshaft
probably more.

My guess is your guy mistakenly ordered or was mistakenly sent the wrong clutch disk.
Use realoem as a reference to follow up on part numbers. Look at the actual packaging the wrong disk came in, if you still can, and see what part number is on the box. Compare that to what you find on realoem.

Didn't think you could "prove" a ZHP with the VIN.

Dw, i think they are talking about being able to look at the vin -- by itself-- and say it's a zhp.
One can always run a vin, though, to see what options came with the car.

The previous owner or maybe the selling dealer swapped the steering wheel. You mean the shift and ebrake boots? I've seen COP Control on alot of build sheets and I was wondering what it meant.

COP stands for coil on plug. It's related to the ignition.
