Hey everyone!

I have been looking for an Aux input DIY with Nav installed. So far I have not been successful in finding one. Trying to take out my Navi display w/ radio is kicking my butt for some reason. If anyone knows how to do this could you explain to me how to do this so that I don't damage anything???

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks everyone! :thumbsup

Might help you out, the link is blocked for me so i can't tell for sure. Do you have your vents out?

To remove the nav unit, you need to:
1. remove trim over glove box
2. remove trim over head unit
3. remove 2 screws over head unit/ac vents
4. remove AC vents over radio
5. open head unit (eject button). Put something under as a prop to keep it open when it tries to autoclose. 2 tabs on the bottom behind the face hold the unit in.
6. with the help of a light and a thin pick, push each tab towards the inside of the radio while gently pulling the unit out (if you move the tab right, the unit will easily slide out on each side).

Post 23 and 24 has scans of the kit instructions for the ipod kit (i think) for Nav. May have some helpful info, but its kind of hard to read.

Yup, it's fairly straightforward, the key is having that tool (or something similar) to freeing the tabs. Also, pull forward, up and hard to remove the vents.

I've seen a few posts saying that tool costs upwards of $60 and the same can be accomplished with a long thin knife.

for what its worth...

You definitely don't need that purpose built tool, something long and slim will work.
