They all look almost the same to me, in my opinion.
I have the remote ones, and they are sweet. They fade in and out with the interior lights when you lock/unlock the car. Have no idea what brand it is though.

Lots of people are happy with Weisslicht, Umnitza Orion, etc.

Most people seem to have Umnitza V2s

The Umnitza rings are too thick for me.. I have the Weisslicht ones from JLevi and I like them.

Although I've been pondering about taking mine out for a while.. they're gettin kinda old to me

I got the Umnitza Orion Predator V2's and love them. Easy to install and they look great.

Umnitza Orion V2 hands down. No fires, no flickering, very clean and OE looking. I still get compliments on my angel eyes even after 3 years of having them

i see from those links that there is no option for facelift coupes. so if i have a 2004+ coupe can i not have angel eyes? i ask this with the disclosure that i haven't put much research into this subject. i saw something about sealed lights on one of those sites.

Coupes have their headlight units sealed, so baking would be required to remove the lens from the housing. Sedans have easily removeable lenses, which is why most companies don't sell the coupe ones as it's a lot harder to do. You can still get them, but from less vendors.

You really should get the Orion V2's, or the lifetime warranty Weisslichts.

The OP has a ZHP, so it's a facelift. Plus, it's a sedan, so this doesn't apply to him anyway.
Dane was posting that for facelift coupe owners. Webster asked about it, and he has a facelift coupe, so that link would most definitely apply to him. :thumbsup

Mp, since you live in San Jose ( I presume Ca.) umnitza is in Concord about 45 min. from you ask for Matt he's the owner you can drive up and test fit different variations of the Orion V2's or even LED. I have had all my angel eyes from them starting with the Predator to the Orions, they can even teach you how to install.

I forgot about that, model started in 98. I was generally talking about how OP has diff headlights than I do but I haven't dealt w/sedan. When I read DWs post I thought of OP, not Webster

umnitza v2s have the lifetime warranty. the first day i put mine on my zhp 3 leds burnt out 2 hours later. i still havent sent them back. however for my old 323i i bought a set of khoalty for like 60 or something. those leds lasted over a year then i sold my car. i still see them on my old car every once and a while and they are still bright

Not hard at all....Maybe 3/10............depends dane, ive done two sets: the first on my 99 323i with 155k on it and the clips were a bitch when taking off all the parts for the headlight probably because it was so old, not garaged kept and had seen many days. my 04 zhp with 23k on it everything came off easy and the whole project took about 45 min because all the clips were easy to take off.

It's a pretty straightforward install. I got hung up at one point cause I was tired and wasn't thinking straight but it really is an easy job.

This. It's what I'm doing, though it's not quite as straightforward as it may seem, at least to do it the OEM way. Coding is involved. :(

Yeah, I understand you have to re-code the LCM to activate pins 44 and 45? something like that?

Plus buying the sockets, wires, bulbs, creating a way to hold the sockets, etc.

Yep. Will make a DIY when I complete it.

anyone have the amber angel eyes? i'm not really digging the bring white color, especially since i have yellow fogs/painted yellow alt-high bowls and and amber turns. i do not have daytime running lights, think this will be an issue?

Will amber angel eyes be a problem without daytime running lights? No not at all. They look perfectly fine imo, I just like the white color LED's. They might seem slightly more yellow than normal because of your yellow painted bowls. But the angel eyes are on the outside of the bowls and don't really emit that much light. I mean they are bright as sin when you look at them, but everything around them isn't illuminated very much if that makes sense.

The PO also wired up a switch that allows me to turn them on or off at will. Very thoughtful of him. :)

My suggestion is get ones that work! I tried to save a couple $$ and ended up with junk. Every single ring is malfunctioning. I was able to get the first replaced, but then the shop I got them from decided to not honor the warranty. Now even the new one has some LEDs that are out.

Aarrgghh.

Buy quality, dont scrimp. You will always end up paying for it, usually more than going quality in the first place!
