Trunk cylinders

This is really stupid but for whatever really irritating. The trunk lid cylinders make a groaning noise when opening and closing the trunk. Do new ones make this same noise?

Mine are getting lil rust pocks on them. Ima replace soon.

They're pretty cheap, just replace them if you dont like the noise. I think I got my hood shocks for like 20 a piece at Autozone (if you;re talking about the shocks that is...)

Not sure if groaning is really what you mean, but mine makes a weird moaning kind of noise. As far as I know, it's normal.

Yeah I may have used the wrong word, it's just a really wierd hum/moan but it's pretty noticeable.
