This is the car I was talking about. I was told that the only blems on the car are from front wheel rub on the fenders (car was lowered a bit too much). It appears to have an exemplary maintenance history, too!

OP....curious where you get the German Castrol here in the states? I've been hunting for some.

Just curious--what exactly is the M fuel baffle? And I just made the connection--a 6MT with a 3.46 diff! I'm betting its 0-60 time is under 5 seconds...

I believe they had to baffle the fuel tank....as the aggressive handling and "sloshing" of the gas....were detrimental to the fuel pump?

Very nice looking ZHP! Quite rough on the steering wheel though? Or do most alcantra steering wheels not last very long?

Wish I was able to buy, need to sell my e36 m3 and 325iX first!

Most don't wear very well. In fact many were replaced under CPO with leather perf wheels.

Bump for a splendid looking car. :)

Some general queries to expand my knowledge:

(1) how much would it cost to replace the steering wheel?, and

(2) any pros/cons on that UUC RK2 Stainless Steel Shift knob?

Thanks!

Rewrap would be courtesy of http://cobywheel.com/

Make sure to use affiliate link if you go this route.

Thanks

Also...I guess the price is more like $175.00-$190.00

More important is to use the discount code of ZHP Mafia for a 10% discount at Coby Wheel. Save some money!

Thanks for the complements. Those Coby Wheel wraps look really nice. I'll leave it to the next owner to pick the color and stitching.

The M3 fuel baffle prevents fuel starvation on right hand turns. BMW PN 16 11 2 229 656

I like the UUC shift knob because it is weighted. I also have the ZHP knob, if the buyer prefers.

price drop - $17,000

Good luck with the sale. Price drop to $17K for a ZHP with less than 50K miles. Nice.

How hard would it be to return a car like this to the stock ride height? Also...do you still have the original wheels?

It has coilovers, so spinning it back up to stock height should be easy...and free.

Those are the original wheels. The coilovers can be raised as mentioned, but I also have the stock suspension that I could swap out or include as extra.

Sorry...Wow...totally missed the wheels. Must have been thinking of another set I saw on another car. :asshat

To the OP...I did go to the link to look at the additional images and the car does look great. What am I looking at on pics 3 and 23? Is this a paint defect or a poor touch-up of sorts? No harm intended...I just can't determine what exactly that might be. TIA

Those are paint blisters from tire rub. Front suspension has since been raised.

Car looks great overall.

I had that knob in my E30 and loved it. On hot sunny days it'll get your attention though ;)

That is one nice 2003. The blisters are a bummer but the rest of the car is Nice. Not to mention 50k! drool. I would also bet you could make a lot of progress on that wheel with the wheel restoration thread.

Have you tried Advance Auto? That's where I found some, in Rapid City SD. 8 qts with tax were $72 though. For $10 more I could have gotten the special from Tischer which includes the filter and 8 qts (Xi version) of oil. Didn't think of that at the time unfortunately.

My bad for not responding to your PM, I don't check this forum often. I'm now set up to receive an email alert when PM'd.

The car is still for sale. Still a few hundred miles short of 49K!

330iZHP
10-27-2011, 08:59 AM
btw - the last email alert I received from this thread was for post 30. all posts after that I have no email notification. is it possible for a subscription to "fall off"?

Marcus-SanDiego
10-27-2011, 02:14 PM
No. But once you get an email -- and don't visit the thread -- you will not get more. In other words, you'll only get new emails after you've visited the thread.

I'm not sure if you visited the thread or not, but trying to knock out the most common reason why people don't get more email notifications.

330iZHP
10-27-2011, 03:39 PM
That is the reason, as I simply read the post from the email notification and never visited. Thanks for that info. Is that pretty much standard functionality across forums?

Woody

The majority of the forums I use, work similar in that you will not be notified of additional posts until you log on.

Great looking car by the way! Can't believe this is still for sale. My search would have been much easier had I been in the market for a 6mt.
