This is a 2003 BMW 330i with the ZHP performance package. Ice Silver on Black leather. It has 97k miles, mostly highway, and has been pampered its whole life. I have owned the car since the sumer of 2007. I have the stock 18inch performance package wheels and tires along with 19" ZCP performance pkg reps. These wheels are almost brand new and the tires are nankang summer tires with 95% tread left. I added the oem black kidney grilles and H&R sport springs. The black leather is in great shape, along with the alcantara steering wheel and shift boot. The vehicle also has the sunroof delete, very rare and sought after. Its has a clean carfax. Will be willing to sell the car with just the OEM Wheels.
$10,500.
Car also being sold on eBay: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574947307&toolid=10001&campid=5336776893&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Febaymotors%2F_W0Q QcmdZViewItemQQ_rdcZ1QQitemZ320760882079QQruZhttpQ 3aQ2fQ2fwwwQ2eebayQ2ecomQ3a80Q2fschQ2fiQ2ehtmlQ3fQ 5ffromQ3dR40Q26Q5ftrksidQ3dp5197Q2em570Q2el1313Q26 Q5fnkwQ3d320760882079Q26Q5fsacatQ3dSeeQ2dAllQ2dCat egoriesQ26Q5ffviQ3d1

Thanks, Mark. I saw all of the Audis in the pictures (plus the screen name) and thought it could be a trade in.

Very nice!
That's more or less exactly the car I'm looking for. Pity it's on the wrong coast...
Anyone know what shipping to SoCal would cost?

Robert, about $800-$1000 if I had to guess. I think that's about how much Terry paid to get his car from NJ to CA.

I would assume that is open carrier? I was quoted $1700 for enclosed carrier from CA to VA a couple of weeks ago from one trucking company, but maybe they were on the high side.

Yes. Open carrier.

Regarding shipping: If you go to the Ebay auction, they will provide a few free quotes for open-container shipping: these quotes seem to be very competitive. Not sure why I'm telling you this, as I may be bidding against you for the car :-)
Also, just curious: does anyone have any experience with the larger wheels and H&R springs? How negatively do they impact ride quality. I always thought that stock BMW ZHP suspension would be sufficiently stiff for my needs. Also, are there any other adjustments that should have been made when these lowering (guessing) springs were installed?
Thanks!

Less than four days to go in the auction. $8700. Someone may get a nice bargain.

Thanks for the info on the shipping via EBay. True, we might be bidding against one another, but hopefully it will go to ZHP Mafia member :)
I would guess the ride might be 20% firmer. I have never driven a ZHP, so I don't know how firm they are from the factory. I would have preferred the OEM springs. Firmer Bilsteins or Konis would be a better match with the H&R's from a handling perspective.

And if you guys do bid, be sure to use the eBay links in this thread. Maybe the site will get a commission! (I've given up trying to understand eBay's commission structure.) :biggrin

fyi. i have h and r cup kit with sport springs. they are great. ride is similar to stock. not really harsh. they make race springs too, and they drop it even lower. i would put it as 90% same as stock. 10% firmer. so basically the same. i really like mine. Lance has them to and likes them as well. I drove the zhp with stock springs for 30k+ miles before the new setup, and about 8k since the new springs. just fyi for everyone.

Thanks for the info Mtnman and MPowerFanatic.
I contacted the seller via Ebay, and thought that I would post their response for everyone's info. There are a few things revealed below that weren't discussed in the description or original post.
I have it listed on a few sites. Im trying to sell the car quickly. I work for Audi Porsche now and have a new S4 on order. I do have a few records for the car mostly just the oil change sheets. When I worked for BMW I had technicians do work for me on the side. Under the table was always cheaper than at the dealership. I have owned the car since the summer of 2007. The car had roughly 38k miles on it when I purchased it. I have a 50 mile commute to work round trip which is all on the highway. The OEM wheels do have tires on them. The have more than 90% tread left. I actually have the OEM wheels on the car now. There are a couple of small dents that could eaisly be removed. The lower front bumper on the passenger side has a small crack in it. If you look at the picture of the front of the car you can see it. The car is in great shape for almost being 9 years old. Interior is almost flawless. When I had the front brakes done last year the pad sensor was broken off and has since triggered the brake pad light to be on in the car. The airbag light is on and I was told that it is a sensor relay. I know its tough to purchase a car from another state but I will disclose everything to you before you make your decision. I have clean title to the car. I also would be able to help cordinate shipping. Being in the business I would probably be able to help out there too. Let me know what else I can answer for you. Thanks

I am new to the board today and glad to be here.
I have this car in my sights, but the seller does not reply to ebay inquiries. Has anyone else had difficulties as well? The silence makes me wonder if the seller is hiding problems or simply not serious about selling. Does not appear to have much in the way of maintenance records. Do you guys take a seller's word that all the work has been done, but has zero documentation to back up the claim? I find it kinda strange the owner would have all these faulty sensor (brakes and airbag) lights in the dash versus paying a few bucks to fix them.
However, no reserve auction has my interest.

I'm thinking that it could be related to the fact that a friend of the owner is selling the car. The seller of the car has been fairly active in this thread, though. Always sucks when an intermediary is involved in the sale. Sometimes you don't get the communication you're looking for. Still, as I said earlier, the seller has been pretty good about responding to posts in this thread. Feel free to hit the seller up via private message.
Welcome to the forum, Swanson.

Well, it's been over 24 hours since I sent some follow-up questions to the seller on Ebay. I also tried calling a few times. The fact that he didn't replace the brake pad wear-sensor is a little concerning: it's a cheap part. That said, if you're doing a brake job at home, and don't have the brake sensor on hand, I could see leaving it for another time. What does concern me is that he didn't mention that or the airbag light in the description of the car...
Question: is it worth saving about three thousand dollars by buying a car with questionable maintenance history? If he hasn't maintained the cooling system and suspension components, you could easily sink $1500 into the car right away taking care of those items. Even so, you'd be coming out ahead: you could even sell one of the sets of wheels to make some of the cost of playing catch-up on maintenance back.
As for me, you won't need to worry about bidding against me in the auction. Best of luck to those that do go ahead with the bidding.

To SELLER,
Can you please answer the following questions to aid prospective buyers in their due diligence prior to possibly bidding on your car?
What repairs have been done during your 4 years of ownership?
Cooling system replaced? If so, any receipts?
Bushing and/or other suspension parts replaced? If so, any receipts?
Clutch replaced? If so, any receipts?
Spark plugs replaced? If so, any receipts?
Have original shocks been replaced? If so, any receipts?
Do you have any receipts for parts documenting fluid changes?
How big are the dents?
is there a lien on title?
How about some more pictures?
According to the Autocheck report, you have owned the car for about 60k miles and my biggest concern is if maintenance has been performed regularly or at all. A few oil change invoices over a 60,000 period is severely lacking in my opinion. I did see your reply to another member that you had a tech do the work under the table, but this gives a prospective buyer little confidence the work was actually done in my opinion.
Thanks

Very true and I agree. I guess the eventual new owner might possibly have a lot of deferred maintenance to pay for, but this would be offset by the attractive price of this car. Let the bidding begin... soon

Yes sir. DIY inspections may yield some of the maintenance has been accomplished, based on what owner says as well.

Too bad. I believe the "Buy It Now" price was $10,500. I wonder why the seller ended it 2 days early for $1k less before any bidding started? Someone got a good deal. Anyone here on zhpmafia?

I was emailing back and forth with the seller and offered him full price, cash. If he would pay for shipping to the west coast, which would have put my actual cost at around $9500. He said he couldn't go that low on the price. Well, looks like he sold it for that anyway...
