View Full Version : How do you clean the Harmon/Kardon rear inserts?

Does anyone know how to clean these? (the ones on the back shelf) I've taken one out and so far nothing has really touched them.

This is what I'm talking about if you don't know what I'm talking about:

mine looked even worse than that so I just painted mine black

yes sir... well actually i did the whole thing a shiny black (to match the trim)

Those silver trim parts on the rear speakers irritate the crap out of me when sun shines on them and they're reflected in the rear view mirror

That was definitely part of the reason why I blacked them out. You can still kinda see if you look for them but at least it doesn't catch you eye when you look in the mirror

I don't want to paint them black because I like them

Ok here... Sorry phone pic and it's overcast but it works. you can kinda see the reflection of the left side outline of the cover in that the tree. Before there would have been a shiny silver stripe from the VW to the rear wheel of the Nissan

I tried and I dont think you can, either paint or new ones. You could always just tape off and repaint the silver part
