Cool, still hard to chase at that speed. Esp when you can't find the Lambo at a wider focal length and then zoom into it. Those Non-Zooms are sweet but they remind me of my first go round of birding with binoculars. I see it, then I put my eye up to the viewfinder, and that sumbitch is gone!!

The solution to that issue with a long focal range lens is to shoot with both eyes open, one tracking the vehicle and one pressed against the viewfinder.

My strategy was to follow it off the line and pan with it the whole fricking way. Most of the cars before it were trapping 140's by the 1/2 mile mark. This guy trapped in the 170's so when he hit 3rd gear he took off a lot faster in front of my pan than I had thought he would.

I still really love the shot though. Thanks for the love guys.

Down to between 2 and 3 fingers of wheel gap all around from just over 4 fingers of wheel gap. So far I can get into and out of the parking garage, but the car is still settling.

I think I see what you're talking about. I think there's a wooden pillar, or maybe even a sign, and the top of it lines up perfectly with the lake's horizon. Definitely draws your eye.

Decent lighting but the shadow on the front kills it. Coulda shown more of other side of car too, proportion isn't bad but I had that the edge is crowding the wheel so much.

I'll be honest, when I first started my job after college I thought about living at my dads and buying an aston martin or an r8 or something. No rent/food/utilities=lots of money for car payments. Then again, I have also contempleted just getting a storage unit and using showers at work. :rofl

Haha, yeah, I thought about this, too. Much smaller scale for me, but this is how I actually afford my ZHP while in college and unemployed. :rofl Worth it.

But when it comes time to sign 100k for a car, I don't think I could do it unless I was rich. So much money... could be used in more constructive ways.

Rent is too expensive... The amount I've spent could've been used for a very nice car indeed - kinda a huge waste if you ask me. I should've put that money towards a house or at least something I could OWN. I've been tempted to move to my parent's as well. They have a house just about an hour north of here that's completely vacant (they live in another house 3+ hours away) and wouldn't even charge me rent... Family friend of ours used to have a 512 Testarossa, a "tune up" was upwards of $6k back around 2000 when he got rid of it. I can only imagine how expensive maintenance on his current car (McLaren SLR) is.

#shamelessplug This is exactly why I love the corvette. Cheap parts. Easy to work on. Feels exotic in a lot of ways. Too bad I don't own it in Europe where it would actually be rare too.

Interesting thing is, the BMW equivalents are just as heavy(ish) and they do feel nimble. Weird how Audi can't do that. :)

Nice! They really look sharp in person. You should talk him into lowering it if your roads permit it. If it's anything like c5s and c6s, the car has adjustment bolts. Easy and only cost is an alignment once the car settles. One that I saw over the weekend:

Although when I think of my car, I think about it being an idealized look. You know, the shape that you doodle as a kid daydreaming about cars. Very flowing.

My dad had a 2003 Mini Cooper s with the john works kit. I drove it for a year after he got a new car. It was so much fun to drive! Very different than the newer ones once Bmw took over. Much more raw and performance oriented.
