NOT A CHANCE! :) Chicago is definitely a cleaner and nicer city, but the wow factor of the nyc skyline is much bigger.

ehhh, NYC's is lackluster IMO, only one that stands out to me is the ESB and that against both the Hancock and Sears Tower (yeah thats right, I don't buy into "WILLIS TOWER") doesn't get the job done.

That being said, the new WTC will change that for sure though.

Until then though, Chi is not the 2nd city when it comes to skylines. ;)

I'm a bit of a stargazer thanks to my uncle. My other guess would be Sirius as it's the brightest star in the sky. I don't have my other computer with me to reference star charts but maybe I'll check and report back when I get home

You don't need high ISO for shots like that. In fact, you typically use the lowest ISO settings for shots like that. It reduces ISO noise. Instead, he was probably using large aperture and a long exposure. He collects all of the light he needs with the long exposure.

And if you do get bumped up to first class, the full frame camera will serve you well. It tends to be darker in first-class seating. Full frame has your back, though.

I took this random shot in the plane last night while everyone slept. It was rather turbulent so getting a razor sharp shot was out of the question using a 1/4 second exposure. Thanks for a fast 1.7 that helped.

On the ground! :) I wanted to use the 2 second timer because I know my finger pressing the shutter would wiggle the camera a bit on the carpet but I thought to myself, no blinking LED! Didn't want to alarm the last row of anything going wrong. LOL.
