Dane: It came off my Coupe. I dont know if anyone noticed at bimmerfest. I did it a few days prior.
Marcus: Call me crazy, but I swapped it out with the flat black trim. I bought a used flat black upper trim, repsrayed it and fixed the waterstop (Temp/will buy new upper trim). Bought new lower trims (pretty cheap).
I wanted to match my wheels/grill/diffuser etc.

No. Dane wants a close up picture that hasn't been touched up like your signature picture.

IMHO, it looks good. I remember taking note of the trim... either at the car wash or later outside the Double T. I remember thinking the car looks tied together.

How hard/easy is it to take the trim out? Mine popping out in the middle and caused the rear door part (small rear section of the trim in the sedans) to fall. I would like to take it out and put it back in properly before it get damaged.

Not that difficult and there are plenty DIY out there. The only hard part is removing the rear window trim. They are held on my double sided tape which requires a blow dryer/heat gun.
But remember I have a Coupe. Not too soure about sedans. I think it may be easier...

Thanks! I have not done it yet, but by the looks of it, I should not have problems. Did you happen to know if the clips that are attached to the car are replaceable? I saw that my car has a couple of them broken.

To answer your question... it depends on which clips you are referencing.
I replaced the passenger's side trim on my ZHP because I had several retainer clips on the trim piece that had broken and couldn't replace them. The clips that attach to the car are the ones that can be replaced. From what I know the retainer clips that are attached to the trim piece are the ones that cannot be replaced, and therefore causes you to order a new trim piece.
