How does V-Bulletin Software decide what members I see at the bottom of forum page?

Every member that's online will show up -- unless they are in invisible mode. I can see all members, invisible or not. Other members cannot see invisible members.

OK then. So if I've been online all day, why would my name not show up in Dane's list (unless it was taken from a different day). And also, what does the "+" mean after some users name?
