I was on my way to a buddies house around midnight and I was rear ended by some girl going about 35 mph. I was stopped at an intersection and I was pushed about halfway into the street.. right when I got out of my car to see the damage the girl gunned it and left. Always remember to jot down the license plate number of whoever hit you RIGHT when you get hit. I made the mistake of checking my car first..

Here's the damage. A big gash in my bumper and a small dent below my trunk on that small piece connected to my fender

As far as I can tell its only cosmetic and no frame damage. Only possible good thing that could come from this is an M3 rear with quad tips. Not sure if that'll fit a facelift coupe though.

That's sh*tty! Luckily the damage isn't terrible. Did you file a police report?

More typical BS from the rest of the world.

We already have Waldo parking. Perhaps we need Waldo driving, too.

Sounds as though you'll be all right, Zaid. Maybe you'll end up with some new mods.

Yeah I did file a police report. I'm about to head to a few body shops to see how much the damage is. I want to see if it's worth going through insurance or not.

:( women drivers!!! gawd! that happened to me a few months ago, I would do it outside of insurance if you can help if for many reasons. If the bumper and paint will cost less than a grand, just do it out of pocket IMO. Claims are bad especially for younger people...even if it wasn't your fault.

I would have chased her while calling the PoPo.

Since my hit and run, it's happen to 3 people I know...
When I was returning my rental the service guy said most of the renters are people who have been hit and run.
We concluded bad economy = people without insurance... But that still doesn't explain poor driving.

That's extremely ironic.. Yesterday morning around 12:30am my friends and I were heading back from a concert. A girl in a pickup completely wasn't paying attention and smashed into the back of my friends S4, unfortunately for her the roads were so congested that I ran to her car and got her to stop after a few choice words. I hope for the best, and pray that they catch your hit and run suspect. Nobody deserves to go through what you're dealing with. I don't understand people these days. I don't care if I were to hit a rust-bucket junker or a Bentley Continental, at least I'd have the decency to man up to my mistake and deal with the consequences. I hope people realize what they're doing is illegal and it's not worth it.

The bodyshop that my local BMW dealership goes to gave me a quote for $400. Doesn't seem like a bad price. The bumper is repairable and does not have to be replaced.

Wow. I once got hit by some teenage girl as well while stopped and I watched her back up and drive right around me. If it wasn't for my entire exhaust hanging from the cath, I would have chased after her (the timing sucked because of the exhaust). I would have loved to catch up and give her a piece of my mind.

I'm surprised that this is all the damage you had. For a hit at 35mph, that should be a LOT worse. Your rear end would be all fudged up. Are you sure she was going that fast?

That's just my guesstimate. It could be slower, but it was definitely very quick.

That's a pretty good price for that kind of bodywork. I was recently quoted $500 to get some scratches/gouges in my rear bumper fixed and resprayed.

I'm glad to hear it's not going to cost a gazillion dollars to fix.

Yes, good news that it's really relatively not that expensive. But, I completely understand money out of pocket that you shouldn't have to spend. That's no fun.

I got hit in my wife's car a few years ago, $700 damage, person didn't run but they weren't insured, so I paid to fix the damage myself (under the $1000 deductible).
