Hey Botond! Do you remember meeting me? Take a look at who is in the passenger seat of my sig!

Welcome to the Mafia, sir. Can we get a little info? Not trying to be pushy, just want to know a little about our new brother.

Sure thing! I'm an audio engineer who grew up in KY, went to college in TN, and moved to CT 3 years ago. I have owned the ZHP for almost a year now. I sold my '83 Porsche 944 earlier this year, it was my first car and I owned it for a decade. I bought the ZHP from NJ with 92k on it, It currently has 107k and is running strong. I have only done 1 autocross with it as I needed to do some maintenance (LCABs were falling apart!) and haven't had time to make it back this year. I spent 3 days doing some maintenance a couple weeks ago: Entire cooling system, belts, pulleys/tensioners, LCABs, tranny fluid, diff fluid, and intake boots. Tires and alignment is up next!

Mods I have done are: Visual confirm, remote windows, clear corners/side markers, black grilles, clutch stop, badge delete, and I have been attempting an AUX input but am failing miserably. I would like to do tint and some VMR wheels at some point, I also keep tossing around the idea of a muffler delete:shift.

I just realized that I don't really have any current pictures of the car...crazy! I have hundreds of my 944...I'll try to take some soon. Here are a couple from the day I bought it (shifter has been changed back to the ///M ZHP shifter) and then a couple pics from the autocross event.

I LOVE this car!

Nice! It's good to get to know you, sir.

Those pics are pretty sweet, anyway. We also respect other types of vehicles on here so pics of the 944 wouldn't go unappreciated either.

Unfortunately I have been working just about every weekend all summer. I'll at least try to stop by at some point just to watch though. Have you been competing in every event?

Sure thing! This is a pic of the day I bought the 944, it had been sitting for 7 years, and was in horrible shape. It was a father-son project restoring it.
Then a couple more recent shots.

Nice work, beautiful car! It's good to see these things brought back to life. How is it getting parts for 944s?

Thanks! Finding parts was not too difficult. There (atleast used to be, not sure these days) was a large 944 community online, so lots of parts were flying around. We had a parts car as well, and there are a couple of companies who specialize in new older porsche parts.

Aww come on, man! All of my friends that I ask to go with me can't because they work on the weekends... whatever happened to the 40hr work week, M-F??? lol
I've skipped one or two, but have been to most of them this year. Getting much better!

Ha! I can't help it...I'm self employed and just starting out, I have to take what I can get! Glad to hear you are progressing. I appreciate the instruction during the event last year! It was awesome to get to take a lap with you in a car almost exactly the same as mine.

Welcome. Nice 944. I love those cars.

Thanks! I loved it too while I had it, but I don't regret selling it. It was almost 30 years old, and was getting to be a pain in terms of reliability (even with almost everything on the car having been replaced) and it really didn't enjoy the cold weather of New England. It was nice knowing pretty much everything about that car though. I remember the first time I pulled the head off, it took 3 hours. The last time I did it...maybe it was the 4th time overall? I did it in 45 minutes.

Hi! Awesome, another CT member! Nice looking car as well, I was originally looking for Imola when I found mine...there were none to be had though. I live on the line between New Haven and North Haven, so not too far at all!

BTW, I posted some new pics of my car in this thread:
