How often do you wash your ZHP? Other cars?

It was always once a week for my ZHP as well if I was going somewhere special. This year though this New England weather has been so odd, lots of nice weather everyday, but it rains for about 5-10 minutes almost everyday :( So this year it has been more like twice a week for the ZHP. I love how it looks clean, so even with dust on it, I cant stand it. As for my VW, in the winter it is washed once a week to keep all the salt off, in the summer, maybe every couple weeks, depending on how much it is driven(not much in the summer)

So how about you guys?

At least once a week, twice a week if necessary.

About once a week, depending on weather conditions.

With the dust issue, you might want to consider getting a California Car Duster. Dane let me use his - they are pretty sweet.

Nowadays, I'm lucky to get twice a month in. Would aim for once a week if time permitted.

As far as the duster is concerned, I found that the wax on it leaves a horrible haze on the finish and I find myself having to repolish after using, defeating the purpose. Does anyone have this issue?

I'm looking into getting one of these. How do you clean the duster?

All I did was shake it while I was using it and before putting it away.

I think that's it. I'll let someone else chime in if they know different.

Yes, you don't clean the duster, just shake. BP, I used to have that parafin wax issue with a previous duster... it's supposed to wear off, but mine never seemed to. I broke down an bought a new one, and after the first use, it was not an issue. So, I use the duster mostly, and wash once/month.

I only use the California duster at shows and stuff. Love the dash one though!

I should add that since I live in SoCal, it doesn't get rained on (except Dec-Jan) and it's garaged, so that really helps cut down the need for washing. I used to wash a previous car 1/week when I lived in Houston.

Usually once a week here as well for all of my cars. Makes for a lot of washes on the weekend but my neighbors have come to expect seeing me outside taking care of them, ha.

Due to me being away from home and the limited time I can go wash it, its usually 1-2 weeks. I depend on a fellow BMW friend to use his house, so I don't wanna run his water bill up

When Im at school, I go to the local car wash, late evenings once a week and hand wash it.

I try to wash my car once a week, but it usually ends up being bi-weekly because of weather, time and hangovers. However, I am aggressive when it comes to removing bird poop. I get that off as fast as I can. My car is black, and so it's always dusty looking except for right after I wash it. I'm a firm believer, though, in keeping a good coat of wax on there to help prevent things from happening.

I was ok the weekly schedule. The I realized the my water is terrible and screwing up my paint. Now I live with dirt until I can afford a good filtration system. :(

Mine doesn't seem to wear off; just leaves that greasy-looking layer of wax. :(
Oh well.

Wash once a week
Wax once a month
Strip wax, polish, sealant, wax every 6-8 weeks

Daily use (when i'm home) use a microfiber duster: http://www.amazon.com/Carrand-97370AS-Microfiber-Shine-Duster/dp/B002G248WQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1312925900&sr=1-1

Once a week or once every two weeks. I keep mine in the garage with a cover on it which helps. It's also not my daily driver so that really helps!

I usually wash my ZHP once a week when detailing it. In between I am able to get away with detail spray and microfiber...pinstripe getting deleted...:biggrin

once a month... I hardly drive it. E32 used to be every week but now it's like twice a month. That may not seem like much but trust me, my cars are clean. (except for the E32, it has faded paint :(

Is it bad to wax your car that often?
