Replaced front passenger side turn signal bulb today...and found the post on the bottom of the bulb was "eaten" away. On the bottom, the darker grey patches in the center are supposed to be all one color (grey/silver).
It reminds me of using a sacrificial anode (e.g. zinc) in water chemistry applications.

I'm guessing it wasn't making a good connection?
Maybe I should consider using some light bulb (di-electric) grease.
