Hello folks,

Just thought I'd introduce myself... I'm on the east coast in the DC area.
I'm new to the ZHP world... considered buying one before getting into my GTI, but couldn't find one I liked. :-/

I came from an E90 330i (just before the GTI)... how does the ZHP compare in performance??

Welcome.

I am sure someone with experience with both cars will be able to answer your question. Over here, we are partial to the ZHP (even those of us who do not have one ;)).

No, I have drove a regular 330i e46 and a e46 M3, but never a ZHP.

I honestly think it comes to conditions and the driver with these 2 cars.

I believe the difference in weight is 132lbs.

235hp for the zhp 222lbs of torque
255hp for the e90 220lbs of torque

0-60 testings are very similar depending on where you look.

5.6 for the zhp by Car and Driver (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?1789-Frequently-Asked-Questions-%28FAQ%29-About-the-BMW-E46-330-ZHP-Performance-Package-Option).

BMW NA puts the e90 at 6.1, but i have seen 5.6 for the e90 as well.

Welcome. Not sure about the speed difference, but with the number just posted, not much enough of a discrepancy to make a huge difference it seems. So then it would come down to which car you like better wrt looks, maintenance, etc.

I've driven both an e90 330i and e46 zhp and i can tell you the e46 handles a better. The power is relatively similar however I believe the e90 had a little more pull. (both cars tested were automatics e90 (6 speed step), e46 (5 speed step)).

Welcome to the Mafia. I haven't had any experience in either of the vehicles, but I would think that the ZHP would handle better.
