Hey guys! New around here so this is my first post.

Have any of you had any experience with the Carbonio CAI? I used to have an Audi, and with those cars Carbonio had a really good product with, sometimes minimal, but overall good results.

Juan, welcome to the forum. Not familiar with that intake. Plenty of people on this site more knowledgeable than me, though. They'll chime in if they have any insight into this item.

Thanks guys! I will be posting photos of my imola red sedan as soon as I get a good weather.

Here is a link to the carbonio intake. I believe they had a legal issue with Dinan regarding Dinan's long tube intake.

Welcome Juan. I've never heard of them and I've been working on euros for over 10 years now. I currently have an afe CAI on my e46.

Hmmmm That will work if you have the money. The long tube is the best option as far as CAIs go. And the mounting bracket looks good!

Looks like a solid intake. I know the Audi guys praise carbonio intakes as I was very close to buying a B7 A4 before I learned about the ZHP.

Welcome. Make sure you post in the New Members thread if you haven't already done so. I too am not familiar with Carbonio, but it certainly looks good. Will be interested to hear your thoughts if you buy it.

My cousin used to have a ZHP coupe with the original long tube Dinan intake, used to sound amazing! But he got the car with the intake since new (installed at the dealer) so he never felt the difference.

Dinan intakes are no longer in production. If you want a good long tube, check out CosmosRacing. It's a silicon intake and sits behind the fog light. I've never had any issues driving in the rain, but I've changed route a few times when the roads have flooded.

Sorry Justin your reply looks awkward since I deleted my post since I found the carbonio intake a few places. I was looking at the cosmo but I'm just unsure of the quality of it.

I know the Dinan's aren't made anymore, I was looking on craigslist and ebay and such for one and didn't have any luck

Do you think it would be worth it to buy a cheap long-tube intake or build my own from piping at autozone or something?

I'm wondering if the Cosmo intake is basically the same as any other intake besides the tube material.

I'm thinking I could buy a cheap long-tube and wrapped the tube with a heat-resistant material and then put an outerwears on the filter to avoid water issues.

CosmosRacing intake is made of silicone and comes with an AMSOILEA dry filter. It was a product created out of want for a cheaper alternative to DINAN for e36s.

No metal should be used for your intake piping.

There is a huge difference between Cosmo racing and CosmosRacing ;)

I love it. It makes a really nice induction noise when I blip the throttle.

Not that bad of a price for a C/F intake. I'd get it. Only thing is that hideous logo on the connecter. "Carbonio" just sounds cheesy.

I am looking an intake too, and not to threat jack, but has any one had an experience with the carbonio intake that is basically a Gruppe M replica?
