The cube trim piece across the passenger side is loose on the door side. It also rattles slightly at low speeds.

Any simple fix?

Pop it off and look:

1611
1609

The little red plastic socket is probably broken.

...or a busted off mounting peg.

Pull it off and see what's going on there.

If you are talking about the trim piece on the door....those are clear...not Orange.....like the ones on the dash. Go to realoem. Enter car. Go to vehicle trim..get part number...and order clips. The shipping will be more than clips.

The answer to your question is....yes...it is an easy fix.

WSMeyer,

Thanks, I just turned my monitor upside down... and what do you know? Everything is 'right' again.

Dane,
Great site for parts. Thanks.

I pulled on the piece enough to see the red socket is broken. However, the rest of the piece seems very hard to pull and I don';t want to break it. Is there a trick to getting the piece all the way off?

Nope...just pull it off.

Yup, no trick. Just pull it off, working your way down to the other attach points, as that's likely where it feels like it's sticking. Kinda like pulling something with a line of snap rivets.

You can always use plastic trim removal tools to help... but no... just pull... gently and close to the point where it is connected.

When the orange mounting pieces are worn or broken they can make it very difficult to remove the panel smoothly... just an fyi. A few of mine were shot, i could get the panel about 1/4 inch out then it would hang up- I needed to use my plastic trim panel tools to get it off the pin. The pin(clips into back of trim panel) is aluminum while the orange piece is plastic but has a steel clip inside it that grabs onto the soft aluminum and holds the panel on... when it is removed a bunch of times or just damaged the steel clip digs into the aluminum and becomes a PITA to get off.
