I don't have one (yet) myself but it looks like the tabs that holds the cover down. If someone wanted one solely for the performance a bit of safety wire and I'm sure it would work fine.

Yup. E46 is now 5 years past and they are getting rid of all the BMW Performance parts.

Was definitely a steal. The very front of the intake was cracking during shipping iirc. As Eli said-- very easy fix.

I believe BCS_ZHP had this issue with his.

I couldn't decide so I'm kinda glad you made up my mind for me. The filter alone is $56 bucks so if it's trash and you buy a new you're really only losing ~ $30

That was the one I just returned to them, they confirmed receiving it on Monday. If they had said they would have let it go for 1/3rd the price, I could have saved them the shipping return cost and would have just superglued it like Eli said.

That's what I was thinking, Bruce. I read a decent number of threads on other forums where people were receiving them with the intake scoop cracked along that seam. Wonder if they've sold a bunch of other ones off at that price.

received the intake today, saw the broken tabs right off the bat but bcs_zhp, could u point out the crack on intake

edit: I'm so lost, i have no clue what you guys are referring to. 2 clips are broken yes, but other than that I can't seem to locate where the crack is. keith, eli, or bcs can you point it out to me in ecs pictures or description

I never saw a crack, it was just the 2 broken tabs. You got a steal, superglue it and be done with it.

now i just feel stupid. because of their description i literally spent 30 minutes eyeing every single part of the intake looking for a crack. yet very excited to know its just the tabs and to get this installed :fistpump
