I'd probably lean closer to 13k, but it is fair.

I paid $13K for a 04 with 95K miles last Oct. No nav or Cold pack though. So price seems to be fair.

Hi, first time member... soon to be 2nd time BMW owner if this car looks good during tomorrow's test drive. What do you think on the price? I'm thinking it's too high.

Price isn't too bad if the car is very nice. I'm sure you could talk it down some!

Just drove it, it's not perfect a few bruises cosmetically but ride is strong and stable. My only real concern is a rattle going over bumps. Going over a few overpasses, it had a rattle in the front... couldn't feel it in the steering wheel.. almost like something somewhere in the front end was loose... concerned it might be a control arm but really can't tell. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

How about service records? At this mileage, maintenance history determines the price. If maintenance is up to date and most PM has been done (Vanos, cooling, fuel filter, VCG, spark plugs, belts, brakes, tires, etc), and nothing major is needed in the immediate 6 months or so, $11K is a very good price.

Also, how's the leather condition? And what happens to the 135 wheels? The picture shows a regular SPP wheels.

The rattle could be a FCAB, if it is not replaced recently. But a PPI will give you a good idea what you are into. Usually the PPI will find something needs attention, and you can use that to negotiate the price down.

Front end rattle isn't much to worry about since you are coming up on a suspension refresh either way.

Very little info in the Carfax... born in Germany, lived in California and Texas before getting here to Virginia. Almost no maintenance records on the Carfax, which I thought was awkward but I've only looked at a few... what I've seen on different cars had more records.

Not sure why the wheels are different... current owner has only had it since 2/13 and purchased from dealer

Leather in very good condition

Looks like some decent mods there, and some bad ones, IMO. Seems like a decent deal, however, there is still maintenance to be done.

I'm not a fan of the mods. If he'd restore to stock, that might be an option (for me). If you want MT, I'd hold off, you will regret it if you settle.

Nice looking car. Rear spoiler delete was an option so it doesn't necessarily mean there is anything amiss. Go in at $11.5 and see if you can settle on $12 or $12.5k. Keep us posted.

Well, I probably already know the answer to this, but I'm curious to the extreme the reaction will fall.

2005 330i ZHP
82k
6mt
Imola/Black Alcantara
Performance package
Sport package
Heated Seats
Sunroof (maybe/moonroof/not sure)
HK sound
Leather wheel
"Fog lights front" (Not sure if that means bi-Xenons)

MI car for 53k miles, CA for the rest.

15.6k

Carmax, so it's probably not negotiable.

Haven't run Carfax, so I don't know if any maintenance was reported.

It's on the way to me in Irvine, so I'll check it out (and post pics). Just seems a fair bit steep, as pretty much every Carmax car does, for not nearly the guarantee (though, of course, I haven't even seen pictures of it yet).

Curious to check out my 1st Alcantara interior, at the very least.

Done.

According to Carfax, 1 owner car, 12 service records, all with BMW of Palm Springs, last in 12/31/2010 for "recommended maintence" @ 57,155.

No negative dings on the record.

A month or so ago I found this car on craigslist using googled advanced search.
What makes me scratch my head over this car is the following...I contacted the seller via text within a few hours or so. A few days later he removed the car off craigslist, I asked why. He said to many people were asking if he would consider a trade. I thought that seemed strange somewhat as if he were waiting for someone to bite on the offer. He said if I didn't buy it he would just put it back on CL. I noticed the zhpmafia.com sticker so I asked what his username was...he said he couldn't remember and never felt like recovering it? (seems weird) The car is listed for $8,000 which is very low. I asked him why he was selling it at that price. He said because that is what KBB has it at and he wants to sell it to get an AWD car. Seems strange but o well his decision not mine. He told me he works on the car himself and doesn't have a whole lot of records or not. The car was listed in an accident and he told me that someone backed into the driver door and that he had a new door put on. I then proceeded to get a PPI. I called a guy listed on bimmershops.com and he said he would do it. So sure enough I get a PPI done and the mechanic calls be back after only looking at the car for a half hour? (the appointment was scheduled at 11 and the seller sent me pics when it was on the lift and I have a record of the phone call when the mechanic called me at 1135?) He said the only thing is the brake light comes on because of the New Hampshire weather sometimes causes the brake sensors not to read and there are a few engine codes like secondary air injection system p0411 Anyways thats my little background info on the car her is the rest

03 MT IMOLA SEDAN
104,XXX MILES
He did the following
Cold weather CCV
OHFG
upgraded FCAB
Aftermarket Intake
Box vanos and coolant system
power steering pump
new alternator done within the last year
battery within the last 2 months
oil change within the last 200 miles

I think he also said new shocks too?
He said vanos was done within the last year and disa about a year and a half

So what do you guys think? He also came down to $7500 because the shadow line trim came off the day after the PPI... Here are some pics of the car as well

I mean the car is definitely rough per the pics, but it seems to be in okay mechanical condition per the PPI. If the asking price is in your range and it has what you want then I say get it. What you save can be put towards things that come up, and replacing/reconditioning the interior. Plus if its more local to you thats an additional benefit to reduced transport costs etc. GL!

yea he came down in part bc of my distance...mechanically it doesn't need any work to my knowledge. I think he just needs to detail it which he said he would plus I would re detail it after I brought it home. Then probably find that piece on a parting out car or at a junkyard to save money and get the wheel and shift knob replaced as well as the boot... I shouldn't be worried that he took it off craigslist or that the PPI only took 30 minutes and it didn't pass emissions because of that secondary injector?

Does the Frisbee come with it?! It sure is dirty. That seat will set you back $300-500 for the bolster alone. Is the rear bench ripped too? Are you comfortable with the mechanic's PPI (seems pretty quick, but perhaps not). I love the color and the two sets of wheels. At that price, it may be worth the informed gamble.

I'm a real golfer not a frisbee golf so I could care less...the rear bench is fine the picture was taken with snowing falling down so thats what I think your seeing...The PPI seemed awfully quick but other than that the mechanical aspect seem on point. The major stuff has been taken care of. He's an enthusiast from what it sounds. The seat bothers me but not as much as the wheel...I would probably just get a seat cover or sew it up for the time being. Basically I have extra money already saved up for maintenance but would rather spend it on mechanical stuff instead of interior detailing.

Here's one that I'm interested in:

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/4342891400.html

It's a 2005 A/T. He's the second owner and bought it at about 155-160k miles. He's had it for 1 year. I've already visually inspected the car and it looks to be in generally good shape, minus a few scratches and wear.

In addition to what's on the ad, here are some additional details that he provided:

- Brake rotors replaced by previous owner at ~145k

- OEM water pump, valve cover gasket, and oil filter gasket when he purchased it at 155-160k

- OEM coolant hoses + coolant reservoir at 170k

- 4 ceramic brake pads + 2 brake sensors 1 month ago

- K&N Cold Air Intake at 165k

- All air hoses replaced with K&N hard hoses at 165k

What do you guys think?

Sorry this has to be my first post - I saw this thread and had to see what you guys think.

Welcome. Post an intro thread when you can. If it were me, I'd go in at $7200-7500. Probably the least desirable color (from what I've seen here; no offense to TiAG owners--I used to have one too), plus the mileage and the AT all bring it down. Consider finding a shop via bimmershops.com to do a pre purchase inspection (PPI) which should run $100-200. Have you checked the VIN?

bloodspatteranalyst
03-15-2014, 12:08 PM
Thanks for the tips. He's already pricing it low for the market so I don't think I can go much lower than $8k. I guess I can use the other maintenance needs to bring it down (belts, fluids, etc.), plus his diamond key battery is running out and I'm not so sure if that cost is on me or him.

Also, what are PCs?

Looking for a reliable daily. Dont really plan on any major upgrades. Maybe a few visual mods.

I currently own an 07 Mini Cooper S with full coilovers, swaybar, FMIC, DP and a tune. Tons of fun. But, Im thinking of something cheaper and getting rid of car payments.

The ZHP would be a good blend of sport/comfort/practicality.

Yes, I love the look of the IR car. And the ad makes it sound like the owner is really on top of maintenance and keeping all the paperwork. I feel good that the car is mechanically sound just based off the ad.

I am still waiting to hear back from the Orlando car. 40k less miles but maintenance is TBD.

Cars are the same price, but with a 40k swing in miles. Of course I would like the lower mile car, but is 133k really that bad given all of the work it's had?

133k isn't bad at all, it may be way better with 40k more miles. Proper maintenance will allow it to last forever. But with the miles it has, the price should have wiggle room. Miles can be very deceiving with these cars.

Good to hear.

Whichever car I decide on, I really want to stay as close to $11k as possible. Of course, these cars dont really pay attention to KBB values, but its a nice starting point.

KBB on the IR car is $8300. So I would think offering $11k wouldnt be a "lowball".

Hi Everyone, just started a search for a ZHP and came across these cars. Let me know what you think of each.

http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/4461180427.html

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/cto/4456948257.html

So I missed out on the Orlando car and eliminated the Charlottesville and Autotrader cars.

This leaves me the MN car from the original post. But, Im weary of rust, so waiting for the owner to send me pictures of the underside of ther car.

http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/4461219943.html -- This may be my new first choice. Owner is very responsive, answered all my questions, decent chunk of maintenance performed.

Thoughts on price? KBB is $8950. Was thinking of starting at $10.5k.

Its Imola and has a good amount of maintenance. Going to carry a higher price right from the start. But it does look like a car in good condition.

OK car seems like a reasonable price. Can't really go by KBB with ZHPs in my opinion. Appears to need a cooling system overhaul (unless I missed that in the CL ad). Is he open to a PPI?

The only part of the cooling system he has touched is the thermostat. He is open to PPI and even mentioned a shop he knew of in the OKC area.

What do you think of the asking price?

Fellas,

Brand new here and I think it is not my destiny to get this car. I attempted to post last night and was thwarted. Posted a few minutes ago and then booted from hotel internet before it posted.

So, while on a business trip to PA I found a 330i on C-list. From the pics it appeared to be a ZHP. Checked it out Tuesday, arrived at a price, and intended to buy on Wednesday (today) but he closed at 3 before I could get there. Guess he didn't want to sell it very bad!

The car is a 4 door sedan, 6 speed, silver, no sunroof, 160K, no service records, but serviced at Apple BMW in York, no major repairs, 2 owners, bone stock, interior good but sun damage rear deck and steering wheel cover is done, weak AC, condensation under oil cap and valve cover (BMW confirmed failure of CCV which was recently repaired), exterior clean and straight, but needs a good detail. 1 small rust bubble below trunk lid above bumper. It was a daily driver in the rust belt.

It is listed for $6995. He agreed to sell it to me for $6100. I am out of time to deal, so he'll have to sweeten the deal tomorrow if he decides he wants to sell it or it will be up for grabs.

http://york.craigslist.org/ctd/4435022251.html

So, would you buy it?

Any advice please post or pm me.

That actually looks rather clean, less the steering wheel and the issues you mention. I'd look into the cooling system and other maintenance bits. The leather looks to be in really nice shape.

Could be a nice pickup. I'd get a PPI done by an indy shop (bimmershops.com) unless you are comfortable with the info you already have (not sure where you got it). Wheel re-wrap is only ~$250. Offer him ~$6300!

samurai

He already agreed to $6100.

However, since he didn't deal with me yesterday he has now cost me additional time and travel so I am not inclined to even give him the $6100. I may give him the opportunity to try again today, but don't know if he will sell it for any less.

Just like the name of the thread, is it a good deal? http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/4471621222.html The seller and I have agreed on a $10,300 price tag and a PPI on Wednesday. The seller said that the gas cap light was on due to the charcoal canister having issues in which he said he would have fixed. He has 0 maintenance records on it, however, the car fax report that I looked up said on 11/5/2010 @ 54,396mi Maintenance inspection completed
Electrical system checked
Trim checked
Tire condition and pressure checked

That is the last documented maintenance record that this car has. Here is the rest of the carfax report.

6/8/2010 @ 49,985mi Front brake pads and rotors replaced
Brakes checked
Electrical system checked
Trim checked

12/13/2005 @ 7,205mi Body noise checked

6/21/2005 @ 2,318mi Radio/sound system checked
Accessories installed
Body noise checked

5/20/2005 @ 1,299mi Oil and filter changed
Exterior trim checked
Body electrical system checked

The carfax also states that there was no structural damage or airbag deployment. The seller claims that after the car was deemed salvaged, his dealership bought the car, had it fixed up and now he is selling it. Once again, is this a good deal? Any ones 2 cents is greatly appreciated!

If I was the one buying, I'd pass on this car. There is basically zero maintenance done, so you're likely looking at a full cooling system overhaul, suspension, OFHG + VCG, maybe vanos, all fluids, maybe brakes, etc. I'd get a very thorough PPI before making a move on it.

I checked it out today. It does have heated seats - the buttons are on the seats themselves. The car is really clean and very well kept.

The guy has a 2002, a 318, and another Bimmer hidden in the garage and does all the work himself, seems like an ideal owner to buy from. He does things like change the oil (or put in a Shark tune) just cause he doesn't have anything else to do. I'm gonna get a PPI done and hopefully move forward with this car.

2004 Alpine white / black leather
143K miles
Automatic Trans (shifts perfectly)
cold weather package
xenons
one quarter sized paint blemish on rear bumper cover
moderate road rash (about 50% of the rim edges total)
only visible seat wear is on driver's side bolster about 3-4 inches long patch
has blacked out kidneys
has A/c schnitzer strut bar
clear front signals
interior looks great
sunroof
harmon kardon with subwoofer (stock one? the one with the button on the accessory switches row)

Oh, I'm in southern CA btw. lots of market with L.A. 45 min away.

Lol I think I know which car you are talking about. The car has been on there for a couple months as far as I can remember. I say on paper, value wise $8k-
$9k. $9k if the buyer is desperate and impulsive. But the car is listed lower than that for a while and not sold yet. That should give you an idea what the car will fetch in that market if you plan to resell it.

Wow the 6 speed makes a 3k difference? Hell i'll do a swap lol

How much does a parted out 6 speed trans go for?

It's listed at 8k because the blue book is 8.3k and the guy has no idea about zhp.

I have the car right now for an all-day test drive so I've worked it out. It's nice. Very tight.

edit: it's actually listed at 7K. Bonus!!

Trans
06-30-2014, 10:37 AM
Maybe $500, definitely not $1k+. 6MT is more desirable, easier to sell. Even if that car is a 6MT, with 143k miles, no way it will get over $10k. Doubt it will even get over $9k.

What do you all think about this deal:

2005 model, 95k miles, ZCP, ZPP, ZHP, "great condition" according to the dealer...

They're asking $11.5k. Seems like a solid deal to me. What do you all think?

Seems to be a good deal. Last month, I looked into a 2005 ZHP auto vert with 122,000 miles. The asking price was $ 12,000.

This one has less miles, is MT and comes with Navi, so I would think it's more desirable.

I think it's ok. I think a ppi would be a good coa here. I really can't tell the condition of the paint. Mods seem legit and respected. I think $11k is high for a 137k mile car. Tell him you'd like the rack included with the car, then sell to me.

K thanks bye :)

Tell him ok on $10.3k as long as it passes a ppi with flying colors.

I am assuming the ppi will turn up easily $1k in recommended repairs based on the mileage. This will allow you more negotiating room.

I think the key runs $100-150. Has to come from the deal with proof of ownership (registration).

Hey guys-- New to the forums, but hopefully going to be a zhp owner soon....

What do you all think about this deal:

2005 model, 95k miles, ZCP, ZPP, ZHP, "great condition" according to the dealer...

They're asking $11.5k. Seems like a solid deal to me. What do you all think?

At that price, I'd be scared the dealer knows something that's not obvious on first blush. PPI by an Indie of your choice strongly recommended.

I paid $14K + TTL back in April for what looks like the same car in Imolarot minus Nav, w/83K miles, and a later '05 build date (leather instead of alcantara). Thought my price seemed to be fair based on the 3+ years I'd been tracking E46 Verts (wasn't looking exclusively for ZHP).

FWIW, I didn't get a PPI. So far, I've found an unvented battery, stuck thermostat, disconnected oil level sensor, damaged threads on oil drain plug, auto up doesn't work for driver's window (switch or GM5?), only got single master key, missing fog light trim, cracked chin spoiler (horizontal bottom of bumper cover), brake fluid is brown, engine air filter was literally crumbling due to age, and I'm riding on springs (suspension issues expected given age/mileage).

A lot of that list is just neglected maintenance, but the heavy hitter is the suspension. New Koni Sports ($570) are sitting in the garage awaiting installation. Since my front ride height measured below spec (mean - tolerance) while being 550# light per measurement procedure, I've also opted to replace the springs with OEM springs (~$800 including all new hardware). This is personal choice and may not be absolutely necessary, but being that out of spec says something's up with the springs. There are cheaper aftermarket spring options, but they all lower the car even more and my cracked bumper cover suggests it may already be too low depending on where it's driven.

Also, while fixing the stuck thermostat, I'll also be replacing the water pump, expansion tank, coolant flush, pulleys, and belts b/c you've got to touch most of those items to get to the 'stat anyway and general E46 tribal knowledge suggests they're probably nearing end of life. Add another $300-$400 to the tab.

So...caveat emptor. And I still love the car. :-)

Looking at buying a 2004 with 170000 miles. The check engine light was on and it was checked by a mechanic and said it needs a new secondary pump and valve but he said that it's not necessary at the moment, it won't affect the performance.... is this true? It has all maintenance records, selling for $6200. Is this worth it? Haven't seen a whole lot of zhp with this many miles.

Thanks guys!

As a newby

I found 2
both 06
Imola with 38,000 auto for $18,000
Grey 6 speed with 14,000 for $23,000

Mileage on #2 is tempting but not crazy about grey and price seems a tad high Maybe $21,000

?

Dane, are you thinking of the 6 speed graphite? The bad brain says its almost 23 for a 8 year old car, the other says it's a new car that was probably $40,000 for 23,000 right now. The auto makes more sense, but that 6 speed has allure. Have not had one since my 98 328i. And never really drove it that much

Working SAP & valve is ~ $100 from a scrap yard. Make sure to read the codes to see if there's anything else and if it's all it needs shoot for $5500. Mine has 230k and is very reliable. Just gotta be on top of maintenance.

I'm going to test a ZHP this Saturday. Seller stated SES light is on. However, he went to Autozone and no codes were found. He didn't ask them to reset the SES, because he's taking me to Autozone so I can see myself.

Does this sound legit ? I wonder if the codes could be erased and SES still stays on.

That sounds legit. If the codes were erased (even if he says there's none) the ses light would be off, unless it came back. If you know someone who has a scanner, might not hurt to barrow it, or bring your own.

Could a SES light show with no codes if it's a BMW specific code that has no OBD-II equivalent? Or could it be the engine service light that comes on when you're due for an oil change? I thought our cars didn't have the 2nd kind of light, instead using the OBC display to say "Inspection" or "Oil change"

As for failed SAP, true it doesn't affect drivability, just emissions during cold start. Unless the vacuum line to the SAP valve is broken, that could cause a vacuum leak into the rest of the engine. Some E46 cars have that vacuum line, but I swear my ZHP does not and I've looked pretty closely and removed the SAP a few times, though I never removed the SAP valve. If the SAP valve stuck open that would cause other problems, but I've never heard of it getting stuck open.

I'd drive the AT and see how you like it. I know your traffic and it's on par with here in DC. I just sold a car with AT and plan to get an MT though I don't drive every day. It's really personal preference, etc. you can add paddle shifters which adds a bit of fun to the car. I don't think a tranny swap is a viable option (though we hear one member might be attempting it!).

Drive both. We have other ATL members.

Question is how well cared is the local car? At 86K, a bunch of maintenance are not due based on mileage, but you know you will have to do it in a year or 2. Priced these in, and I bet Bill's car is a way better deal, even if you can knock the local car another $500 (hard to see the seller budging lower given the low mileage and apparently good condition of the car).

But yes, MT in heavy traffic is dreadful. That's why I only drive my ZHP on Friday and weekends.

Good luck.

The price may be a little high. Two months ago there was a similar one FS here in Austin : 2004 sedan with 172,000 miles, auto. The asking price was $5,800. Maybe the one in NJ has service records, since it's one owner. That could be the difference in price.

Looks very well maintained. I don't know the car. Bruce, or anybody else, do you? Happy to go take a look/drive. The diff is a big plus in my book! Oh, and welcome. Where are you located?

Thank you so much for the welcome. It's good to be here.

I didn't do an Intro thread since I'm not an owner yet. But this ZHP plus LSD is likely the One

And thank you for any help you can provide. Please let me know how best to arrange for you or another forum member to see the car. I'm in Morgantown, WV. The tentative plan is for PPI this week, and purchase Saturday, if all goes well.

Wasn't sure where to post this one. Probably got it wrong. Also asked this already, so thanks tor the help and patience :-). Looking for some guidance on purchasing a car out of state...pics only. Anyone with experience in this situation? I think a PPI probably makes sense. But still looking for advice on the transaction...payment..how/when...shipping, post shipment inspection period, etc.

Thanks a ton for any help/advice.

Ok first post here on this site. I have a couple ZHPs on Craigslist here by Sacramento.

First one is: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/4721388015.html
---They are selling it for $9000 and it has a salvage title. Not really sure what that entails. 87,000 miles doesn't seem too bad.

Second one is: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/4724334552.html
---Pictures don't seem very detailed but they said "serviced when required" and they are charging $12,000 and it has 99,000 miles which is a little much but I cant complain.

What do you guys think?

First, welcome. SOme great ppl and resources here. I'd suggest reading: http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?5828-What-to-look-out-for-when-buying-a-BMW. YOu might want to also see is any locals can look at hte car(s) with or for you: http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?4294-I-Need-Someone-To-Check-Out-A-BMW-330-ZHP-For-Me

Be very wary of the rebuilt title. The car may check out fine or there could be serious underlying problems. Always pay for a PPI from a trusted independent shop. Start with bimmerships.com

I would talk to the owner of the $12k car and ask him questions about the service intervals and what has been done. There is quite a bit on the "to do" list at ~100k.

Wow, thanks for your service (weather military, civilian or contract support). My neighbor just got back for a 30-day R&R from a security gig over there.

Do you have access to Skype? It says Please call Jerrit for more info: five598017492. I assumed that was a guy. If it is a cell, you might be able to text, etc. with Google Voice or some other online tool. Or maybe one of us could set up initial dialogue. How would you plan to buy the car? And what are you looking for? The first car is a MT sedan and the second and AT Coupe.

Cash is king. I was wondering if you plan to by before you get back. Or are you really just in the market research phase.

6MT is more fun I think, but AT has it's place also. I had one and added the paddle shifters to "kick it up a notch".

Gentlemen, could you help me feel out this deal? I found this car on these forums and on Craigslist and went to check it out. Seems like it was owned by a younger individual (speculation). Has cheap replacement roundels, exhaust tips, clear corners (with water inside), and some uninstalled "angel eye" lights in the trunk. They have multiple prices listed, but the lowest posted is $12,995. I'm hoping to get them down to closer to 11.5-12k due to the car being rough around the edges (curb rash, interior wear, smoker car). What are ya'lls professional thoughts?

True dat. Vas is in Harrisonburg.

None of the good shops in this area are "convenient" unless you live close to them. Bruce's go to indy, Green Motorsport is a 45-50 minute drive (without traffic, but this is NoVA and that's never the case) but definitely sounds like a great shop. RRT is out Old Ox Road, 35-45 minutes away from Manassas without traffic, with traffic...double it.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/rrt-performance-tuning-and-maintenance-dulles

http://www.greenmotorsportservice.com/

But really, for a PPI I'd search on Bimmershops for one that is convenient to where the car is and have them do it. As long as they seem reputable, a PPI is a PPI.

And big +1 to Vas' ZHP! Might have more miles, but definitely would trust purchasing a car from him rather than a used car dealer. Plus, a higher mileage ZHP with the big ticket items completed and still in great condition interior/exterior wise is a better buy.

from everything I've heard regarding talk about Vas and seeing some of his cars on the forum here............id have to agree. and generally yes, if the big ticket items are done and its slightly higher mileage, thats worth the buy because you're set for another 30-40k

Alright, getting close to being ready to pull the trigger when I find the right car and this one is a contender. Listed at $15999 on the website and $15499 on Craigslist. I know for a fact they will come down to $15k and that's without any real negotiation yet. Prices seem to be all over the place on these cars but what do you guys think of this one at $15k?

Very desired combo: vert, 6mt, alcantara, 66k miles. Last year I test drove one vert with 120k miles. 2006. Auto, IR, black leather. Nice car. The asking price was $12,000. So I believe the price you mentioned sounds reasonable.

Ah yeah, I saw that, just wanted to pass along the ad/public price. As for price itself: after looking for a ZHP for 7+ months I found that while there is a vague general mentality behind ZHP pricing, it can be all over the place. With the way these cars seem to sell (see: very quickly for well maintained examples), if you find one that checks all the right boxes I would go for it. $15k is a bit high IMO, but if you think you can talk them down more and it's what you want, it's definitely not the worst proposition in the world.

On the whole convertibles seem to command a lower price than coupes/sedans (at least from what I saw during my search), but when you find one with a manual it seems to negate that price difference at lower miles (sub 90k). Throw in a desirable color combo, navigation, Cold Weather Package, and Premium Package and you're looking at a low miles, manual transmission, fully loaded car. Plus, this car is being sold by a dealer so it will usually have a premium price over a private party.

All in all, as Fredo said, it's probably a reasonable price. Especially if you can negotiate down further from $15k.

ELCID86
04-19-2015, 11:21 AM
Probably in the right pricing ballpark. Just know if you don't have a good history on it you will need to "invest" money into coming system, bushings, etc as they tend to go at the 10 year mark. YAMMV.
Beautiful color combo and Alcantara is the way to go IMO for a vert.
Would not suppose me if EAG scoped this one.
