For those wanting the Silver Cube Trim...

I have been to a local meet recently where someone had indicated to me that they wanted to have the silver cube trim in their ZHP.

Today, I did some research (with the help from a local BMW parts center) and came up with the following information for the silver cubed trim:

Why is it more expensive than the real wood trims? I'm very confused about the metal and plastic trims. Call me a geriatric-f***, but I think the wood is classy. Granted I don't have the Performance Package, but it seems like a lot of money for some plastic with 3-D cubes on it :dunno

For me it's a matter of keeping everything fresh. The silver cube was an option for the ZHP and since mine came with them and I just got it recently, I want to keep everything fresh inside...

As for the mechanical aspects, I have been working on this as well...keeping myself very busy with my BMW addiction...:thumbsup

Probably 20% off OEM is the best one could expect for such low volume parts. And, BMW is likely the only source.

Think I'm going to replace my shift surround at some point. There are a few minor nicks in it. Almost impossible to see unless you're in the light right and looking from the right angle, but I know it's there...

If any of you guys actually plan on buying the entire trim from the stealership, your probably better off buying EAS silver CF trim. Its nicer looking imo.

Not everyone likes CF, me being one of them. That's why our options are limited. :(

I used to think that too, but after living with c/f, I'd prefer it. Two reasons: Since the ZHP is supposed to be about performance, to me the c/f says that more than the wood. I would (not pun intended) prefer the wood on a 5 series. Also, the c/f contributes to the zhp-ness (again no pun intended) of the car, as those are the only models with it AFIK.

Cube trim isn't C/F. It's aluminum with a cube design. C/F design doesn't look the same.
There actually isn't a single C/F thing on the car.

This. I don't like CF on tan or gray interior though. But I don't like tan or gray to begin with. Too boring imho.
