View Full Version : Expansion Tank Took a Dump (pics)

So my expansion tank died on wednesday. got the part from Zach at Crevier (much thanks goes out to Zach!) and went to put it in today. Not sure if some other things need to be replaced but here is where i am at now.

removed the air filter
took off the clips and hoses
pulled out the expansion tank
was about to replace with new one when i saw some other parts that MAY need replacing but i am posting pics to see if i can last at least a week then replace them (gotta work harder and make more money! haha)

that is the lower coolant sensor i had to replace mine since it broke :(

i'm on my 3rd expansion tank :rofl:

But the piece it goes into is cracked. What is PC 4 called?

OK...Piece 4 is called "thermostat".

So...piece 4 sits in the round item you have that is cracked. Ensure that the "sealing surface" is not damaged, and only the upper part is affected.

Confirm this.

i went a head and replaced both when i did mine.

To what I see and feel the top surface is NOT damaged and is still smooth and round.

Albert...you gotta understand though...I am unfamiliar with this part....as the manual setup doesn't even have this thermostat.
