I was on my way to work this morning doing 70+ on I90. Things started to get a little congested with brake lights ahead. This turned out to be caused by a Ohio State Highway Patrol parked oh the grass incline perpendicular to the road. So, things free up as soon as we pass and I look down and my brake wear sensors light is on. No noise or anything else weird so I just lighten up in case there is a issue.

I get home and pull the two wheels with sensors and the pads are like new. I just checked the records and they were changed with the sensors about 16k ago.

Now it looks like I need to disconnect the sensors and check them with an OHM meter to find the defective one that needs replacing.

Question; Has anyone else ever encountered this?

Yes. I have a defective one right now on my e30.

I have not tested to isolate yet. Will likely order two new ones and install two new ones.

This is not supposed to be common, but it does happen.

Yep, it's happened. Not to me but to a fellow friend. He just shorted them out because he knows when he needs to change his pads.

And BTW, be careful this weekend. Ohio Troopers will be everywhere
