I had a '73 240Z that I would have tried to keep forever, but it got totaled on the freeway. Loved it. I also had a '76 280Z, and my wife had a later model Z, before the complete body style change (hers was more the boulevard cruiser than the earlier sport car feel).

I had a '73 that I bought from my boss at the time, in '77. In fact I *just now* got an email from him, we still keep in touch 40+ years later. Anyways I was 20 at the time, and borrowed $3800 to buy it, without a co-signer. That was pretty badass for my age, and $3800 was a big chunk of change for a used anything in 1977. I was the envy of all my buddies who were doing silly stuff, like going to college (lol).

I went on to own a '78 280Z, a '93 300ZX, and much later, that awesome reincarnation of the original, a BMW Z4M coupé in 2007. I miss all of them!
