View Full Version : What generation owner are you -- how many previous BMW 330 ZHP Owners Before You?
How many have owned your ZHP

Third gen, though the second owners only had it for about 6 months and I put about 4x the mileage on it in half the time. Do I qualify as a 2nd owner? :p

Not ZHP... but 1st-ish owner.

2 owners before me...that didn't know squat about BMW apparently...

Two before me as well. Original owner lived in the Bronx NYC. Can't believe the car doesn't have a single ding in it.

The original owner had this ZHP as his weekend car. Took really good care of it and was glad to see that it was going to the good home of a fellow enthusiast.

I am the second owner. The first owner was a great owner.
I'm the second owner on mine, even though the first person leased it. Hmmm; I guess I am the first real owner, but I calmed 2nd on the poll.

Well the bank/BMW NA owned it before you. :shifty:
Third owner; second owner had it from ~12k to 110k miles, obviously it was good to him. He didn't know anything about it but he did have the oil changed every 3k miles, and changed the diff/transmission fluid four times IIRC based on his friends recommendation.

Him changing the oil every 3k...and not knowing much about the car....makes me think he wasn't using synthetic oil.....eek.

No he was using synthetic; Mobil One. Basically his friend wrote down stuff that he should tell the shop to do, and he did all of it. His friend must've been fairly knowledgable.

Lobes are lookin good....I guess you're ok...
I'm the 4th owner. . .
1st owner had it for 7k miles, 2nd till 62k miles and 3rd had it till 98k.
The 3rd owner was driven by a female doctor of some sort, maybe a veterinarian.

In the past, I have known a lot about previous owners. It would not be uncommon for the fourth owner to know quite a bit about the third owner -- since these two were in privity of contract.
I'll bet that's how he knows. Just a guess, though.

Or
Maybe he took her to dinner...

And I am just guessing that he did buy it private party.
Linh will have to let us know.

Bought it from a small dealer. Told me a local doctor owned it.
Found out her name was Alexis when I found some reciepts from SEARS on maintenance. Has her number on it as well.
Now I think she might be a veterinarian because of the dog/cat hairs on the rear deck of the interior. Thats a guess though =)

I also thought you said vegetarian in your first post though....fml.

So there we have it. The dealer knew who the owner was -- and relayed that information to the new owner, Linh.
I must admit, I do like knowing who the previous owners were and what they did. Kind of gives me an understanding of how the car might have been driven in the past, though I do understand the fallacy of that kind of thinking. :D

Both the original and second owner had it as a summer sunny day car up north. It was CPO'd and I picked it up direct from second owner [someone I knew] with 22K on it last year.

2nd owner here. I wish I could find out who the original owner was.The BMW dealer in Vegas wouldn't tell me citing privacy reasons. It seems to have been well taken care of though. If not for the road rash on the front a good paint correction will have it looking like new. Not a dent or major scratch on it, just light stuff in the clear coat that should all come out with a good polishing. Same with the interior, if not for the wear on the Alcantara wheel and a little on the driver side outer (leather) seat bolster it could pass for new.

i am third owner as well, but my brother in law had it from 30k miles, and i know everything he did to the car. That was a plus.

Second owner. First purchased it in Germany and had it shipped here. (American steering)
Guy babied the car and took it to the dealership for every squeak and all maintenance. Clean carfax. Southeastern car. Great find.

3rd owner. The first owner was an advertising executive who put 19,500 miles on it the first YEAR of ownership. The 2nd owner put just under 10k a year - no information on that person. As for me, it will see 20,000 miles in a year...

How do we find out who were the previous owners? Carfax or Auto Check does not really tell all......

I'm the 3rd owner. A Duke doctor bought it new and owned it until it was sold last february to a businessman who had 4+ cars for himself. He put 12k miles in the little over a year he owned it before selling it to me with 118k miles on it in July. Currently sits at 124,xxx.

I'm the 3rd and final owner of my ZHP :thumbsup
The previous owner was a BMW mechanic at the dealership I service my ///M at. The car has been well maintained (other than the ZKW headlights)....got the rear subframe reinforcement (no problems - this was done as a preventive maintenance), cooling system overhauled and all fluids changed out as per service intervals with exception of oil changes being every 7k. Insp II comming up soon....:facepalm Any recommendations on what to get accomplished here will be appreciated....would like to get as much done w/o having the dealership doing it...:thumbsup
I am in the process of going over every major component (presently working on brakes - new stainless steel brake lines, pads, and brake system flush), CDV delete, new FCABs, and deleting the painted on pinstripes, then will get everything up to my standards...:biggrin
....those pinstripes are killing me :rofl

You have the stripes? Those are apparently a BMW Performance part. (stupid part, the Motorsport flag is way better but I think you need to have the right color car for it to work)

Hermes,
How can pinstripes be a BMW Performance part? Never knew that... I myself, don't care to have them which is why I have been deleting them. Basically, I am in the process of refurbishing my ZHP more to my tastes. I prefer the solid color rather than having pinstripes breaking up things....but that's me...:biggrin
Interesting to know!

Yeah, I think they make no sense but I remember seeing it somewhere listed as BMW Performance Pinstripe E46
EDIT: can't seem to find it but e.g. - BMW Performance Pinstripe for 1er and new 3er (should we add to the list on the FAQ?)

I went back and looked harder at the pics of his car after he said he had stripes. What I was saying is I can't find the E46 one, that's the E9X one

4th. All previous owners had great meticulous maintenance records, including the original window sticker and all receipts. And the car was very nearly flawless (just some scuffs on the interior of the door handles/little wear on the steering wheel).
