Probably need new tires..and the michelin pilot super sport tires come with a 30k warranty for square set ups and half that for staggered. So you can see where I'm going with this... :)

I've given it a little bit of thought, but I doubt most people would want a skinnier tire/wheel out back. That said, has anyone done so? By my quick calculations, you'd need about a 10 mm spacer to get an 8" M135 back out to where the 8.5" was. And are 245/40R18s the biggest to go on a 8"?

You could just put the same size tire on it... wouldn't that do the trick?

Nothing wrong with a 18x8 square setup. That's what i am running with 235's. The 10mm would put stance in the rear where it should be...rim wise.

I realize you already had those wheels from your previous car but if I was planning to do a square setup on a ZHP, I'd go with 18x9 with 255/35/18 or 17x9 with 255/40/17. For a DD, I'd say 9" with 255s is perfect... not too skinny looks-wise and not too wide to cause rubbing issues. I can't imagine spending money on wheels that are skinnier than the stock wheels.

Since he's worried about the warranty, that probably wouldn't be the best idea. The 255's are significantly more expensive to replace than some other sizes. Depending on what size he's looking for, that may be a cost prohibitive option seeing as those tires don't last very long...
But a square 255 setup is definitely For The Win. Handles fantastic on the auto-x course!

Well, I wouldn't want the 8's all around...so I have no other choice to do the rears all around haha
