I am a new member searching furiously to find a ZHP. My 2001 330ci with 150k just died on me and I am trying to find the ZHP, a car I have always admired, and fell in love with in a recent test drive.
2004-2006 330ci ZHP
6 speed manual a must
Silver Gray, Mystic Blue, Titanium Silver, Black all fine by me
Prefer leather interior over alcantara, but not essential
Prefer black interior, prefer silver cube trim
Mileage under 65k, price under $22k
Perfect spec would be silver gray/ mystic blue with black leather, silver cube, 6mt, nav
I am located in Washington DC but willing to travel East Coast.

Given your budget, you're going to find a nice one. And you'll have no problem finding one with less than 65K miles.
Good luck with search. You're definitely at the right place.
Welcome.

JW,
Know of two '06 coupes in NVA. First is sparkling graphite (darker gray than titanium -- look up kayger12 on this forum, its that color), 6 spd, black leather, silver cube, nav, heated seats, xenons, 50K miles. I drove it a month ago, a nice car and seems that he kept up on the maintenance. He's asking $23K, you should be able to get him to 22 or less. He's right off of Duke St & 395, Lincolnia area. His name is Leighton, can't find his phone # right now, his email is lprie@hotmail.com. FCABs were just replaced, brakes had tons of pad left, tires are fairly new, no accidents or paint work, coolant system looked good.
Second is about 5 miles from the first one, black, 6 spd, alcantara, black cube, no nav, heated seats, had about 45K miles. His last name was Forrest, my blackberry doesn't go back far enough to pick up his phone # or email. I saw & drove it last Fall, know as of March he still had it (stopped by his house one day) but don't think he's really trying to sell it right now. I think he was in the $21-22K range. If you're interested, can dig up his contact info on Monday when I'm back at my work computer, he lives in Baileys Crossroads.

Thanks for the leads. Out of curiosity, how did you find the two cars listed above? I have been looking on cars.com, autotrader, and Craigslist. My 2001 that is on the brink is steel gray. Sparkling graphite may be too similar. Aside from that, that car fits the bill to a T.
There is a 2006ci Black over alcantara in NY for sale. 57k miles, former CPO, 4 new tires, new clutch, and battery. Asking $20,500. Thoughts on this price? Clean inside and out...

JW,
Its kind of odd for that car to have needed a clutch already, some previous owner must have rode the clutch. Replacing a battery at 5 years is about the norm and tire replacement is normal too. And I'll probably get jumped on by the northern crowd but you have to look at the undercarriage of a northern car closely. If they're in an area that uses brine solutions and they drive in the winter, that stuff can eat up the aluminum underneath (lower control arms, etc.). Price-wise, east coast cars tend to go for more than west coast. What I've found is that $19-20K seems to be a psychological block for the buyers in NVA while anything less than $21K seems to be a block for the sellers. For the two ZHPs I have, I had to wait months for the sellers to come down closer to my offer.
On the black one, it was in Craigslist last Aug when I started my ZHP search, was actually the first one I drove and then I was hooked. A nice car but we could never connect on price. But when I meet a fellow ZHP enthusiast, well I try to keep in touch with them. The sparkling graphite one was on autotrader a couple of months ago, he let the ad expire and started driving the ZHP again as he searches for a newer 3 series with some rare color.

JW,
Check this out although the mileage is 88k:

I emailed on June 6 asking queries about maintenance and the warranty mentioned in the ad. A bit strange that she emailed only yesterday with some pics and didn't reply to my questions.
Let me know if you want me to fwd the pictures to you before you contact her.
